Mother Was a Sifter Mother’s baked goods were always light and fluffy… they had been siftedMother would always use a flour sifter when do-ing her baking. The flour had to be sifted. When I was a little girl I would like turning the red han-dle on the sifter and watching the white powdery particles drift into the bowl. Mother would make sure that the other ingredients were a part of the sifting. There would usually be a few lumps from some of the dry ingredients left on the top of the sifter screen that would not be sifted no matter how hard I turned the handle or shook the sifter. Mother told me to throw the hard lumps away as they would only make lumps in the finished product. In later years I asked my mother why she still sifted the pre-sifted flourShe told me it made the flour revive and come alive after being machine pre-sifted and packed in a bag. It gave air and life to the flour and made it light and it also was the way to blend the other dry ingredients equally into the flour. Mother did not believe in the pre-sifted flour, you have to sift it yourself.Jesus told Peter Satan had asked to sift him like wheat but Jesus told Peter He had prayed for him. The Lord allows our lives to be sifted. It brings to surface what needs to be dealt with and removed from our lives. We have the choice to recognize it and get rid of it or try to hide it. We can try to hide the sin in our lives but it becomes apparent sooner or later. We can deal with it and pray and God will help us get rid of the lumps in our lives. He will throw out and forgive the lumps of sin.

Simple Thingsby Dorothy Dale

A sunny smile when you're sad and blue, A pat on the back to cheer,

A friendly call when you're all alone,A letter from someone dear;

A sun-tanned boy and his dog at play, Expressing the joy within,

The gentle sound of a summer rain, Tap dancing on roofs of tin;

A quiet walk by a moonlit lake, The cry of a whip-poor-will,

And singing songs by a crackling fireThat chases the evening chill;

The fond caress of a lover's handThat quiets the timid heart,

Some feathered frost on a window paneRevealing the Master's art;

A drop of dew on a spider's webAglow in the golden dawn, The majesty of a stately

tree That shelters a gentle fawn;

The simple things that make life worth-whileAre here for us all to share-

Just look and see what the Lord providesTo show that He does care!

If I am pre-sifted I am satisfied with things in my life and in a rut. I do not try new things and compromise to stay in my comfort zone. When I get sifted I feel new life and recognize things that have pulled me down. I try to get rid of them and let the refreshing air of sifting fill me as I drift on to be of service. I try new ideas and open my mind to think in a broader picture. I am not always happy to be sifted. Seeing things in you life from within is not always easy. Many times I need to be re-sifted … and re-sifted. Some reci-pes call for that.

I believe God allows the sifting so we can climb to a higher level; the air that fluffs the flour is like the Holy Spirit that takes us to a closer relation-ship with Jesus. Sifting makes us a stronger person un-less we focus on the negatives lying on top of the sifter. Satan would like us to look at the junk that is sifted out and try to convenience us we are unworthy or unable to be of any service to God or anyone. Satan wants us to believe God does not forgive us. God wants us to look at the pure part that was sifted and then He takes it and bakes it into a fine loaf, but the baking takes heat and the timing is different for all of us as He perfects us accord-ing to His will. Hebrews 10:23-2523-Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess,

for he who promised is faithful.24-And let us consider one another to provoke unto

love and to good works, 25-Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves to-

gether, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day

approaching.

A Passionate LifeGod, you are here, in my present,

in the air I breathe!Let me breathe deeply.In the words I speak,

Let me speak watchfully.In the pleasure of learning.

Help me find the truth.Let me listen for your sound

in other people.With the priceless gift of sight,

let me fully see your beautiful world.Being blessed by such great love,

Turn Your Eyes On Jesusby Carolyn Kyzer

Turn your eyes on Jesus and trust Him,He was with you in your life so dim.

No greater love you will ever know,When life is dark and dreary He will care.

Know for sure He paid a great price for you,Let Him have your soul to see you thru.

Turn your eyes on Jesus, He is kind and true,Nothing is impossible if you let Him guide you.

Look up to Jesus, He hears your every prayer,He will mend your broken spirit with care.

He says follow Me and you will never be lost,I will rescue you no matter what the cost.

Inezby Tom Weyers

We saw her each morning As she rolled down the hall Wearing her bonnetAnd soft knitted shawl

A little sweet smileOn her soft wrinkled face And one hundred years

Of God's loving grace

Then if you gazedIn her flashing dark eyes You would see a wee

angel In her grandma disguise

And all of the love That she would impart Came from this angels' Most beautiful heart

Now saddened we areWith tears in our eyes As she journeys to heaven

Through cloudless blue skies

To live with her Savior In His mansion above In peace and in joy And eternal love

“This cake is awesome!

Prep Time: 30 Min Cook Time:1 Hr Ready In: 1 Hr 30 MinOriginal Recipe Yield1 - 10 inch Bundt cake

Ingredients1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix4 eggs1 (5.1 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix2 tablespoons amaretto liqueur1/2 cup water1/2 cup vegetable oil1/4 teaspoon almond extract1/2 cup amaretto liqueur1 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar

Directions1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan. 2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, instant vanilla pudding, water, oil, almond extract, and 2 tablespoons of the amaretto; blend together well. Pour batter into the prepared pan. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of cake comes out clean. Remove cake from oven and while it is still warm, poke holes in the surface. Drizzle with the Amaretto Glaze, insuring that some of the glaze fills the holes. Let the cake cool for at least 2 hours before removing from the pan. 4. To make Amaretto Glaze: Sift the confectioners’ sugar, and combine it with the remaining 1/2 cup amaretto. Blend until smooth. You may add more amaretto as needed.

What Can I Do For You, Lord?by Kathy Coons

I'm often overwhelmed by the love of God. It is easy to be blinded by the things of the world, but God is always displaying His love. I'm sure it makes Him sad that we don't always see it. When I do recognize His love, whether it be in a beautiful sunset, holding a new born baby or just feeling a sense of Peace, I often ask "What can I do for you, Lord?" Isn't that a common response to love? When someone shows you love, don't you want to show them love in return? "What can I do for you, Lord?" As soon as I ask the question, His Word is brought to my remembrance. A religious leader asked Jesus which of the command-ments was the most important. In Mark 12, we find His answer. "The Lord our God is the one and only God, and you must love Him with all your heart and soul and mind and strength. The second is: you must love others as much as yourself." Although those verses are very familiar, the response of the religious leader is not recited as of-ten. His response was "...there is only one God and no other, and I know it is far more important to love Him with all my heart and understanding and strength, and to love others as myself than to offer all kinds of sacri-fices on the altar of the Temple." Jesus responded to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God". That is how important these two commandments are. Obeying these will bring you into the Kingdom of God. Yes, it is important to serve God through your church, but as the religious leader knew, it is loving God and others (even your enemies) that is the most important. And, as Jesus told him, it is the key to the Kingdom. I challenge you to show your love to God daily by showing love to a stranger or an enemy. February is the month that we think of love. Make it a point to show love to someone each day and do it out of your love for God. I can just imagine the smile that will be on His face, as we all enter His Kingdom. Live a Blessed Life,

Jack’s Cornerby Jack Hodge

A Spiritual Journey with Ray Scarbrough

I first met Ray Scarbrough when Governs Crossing in Sevierville Tennessee was holding a Gospel Singing. WJBC Praise 96 was also present checking out the talent. Three groups were performing. Jeff Treece Band, Valor and The Vocal Group Testament. Ray was with The Vocal Group Testament. This was the first time I had heard Testament and Valor. I had been playing Jeff Treece Band on my radio show for quite some time. I introduced myself to Valor and Testament and got CD’s to play on my Gospel Show. This story is introduce you to the new group PARABLE. Although RAY SCARBROUGH’S PARABLE is a brand new quartet, collectively they bring almost a century’s worth of music experience to their craft. Ray Scarbrough recorded his first gospel album at the age of nine. By age 15, He was a full time musician. By age 18, He began touring nationally & internationally with the Supernals, Lionheart, The Vocal Group Testament & Won X One. In addition to providing original material for the groups he’s performed in, Ray has written several charting songs for other Southern Gospel artists including Perfect Heart, The Dove Brothers, The Talleys, Ivan Parker, The Palmetto State Quartet, Mitchel Jon & Three Bridges just to name a few. Although he writes exclusively for Chris White Music, Crossroads Publishers has nominated Ray Southern Gospel Songwriter of The Year for the last consecutive 7 years. He is also accredited for penning the Official Southern Gospel Song For the State of Tennessee as voted unanimously by the 101st General Assembly of

the Tennessee State House of Representatives. Although he continued to write Southern Gospel Music & garner nominations, he stepped away from live performance of christian music 5 years ago. In the winter of 2010 God began to deal with him in regards to performing christian music, specifically Southern Gospel, again. “Although I missed being the lead singer in an all male quartet terribly, I had this long list of reasons & hurdles I was attempting to avoid. By the summer of 2011 all of the inhibitions I had were beginning to dissolve. Little by little & one by one God began putting everything & everyone into place, not only by bringing the right personnel into PARABLE, but in my personal, spiritual & business lives as well. My wife (then fiance) Candy was key in helping me see & move on the true & good desires of my heart.”

“So together Candy & I established a business ministry, with compartmentalized entities all working toward the glory of God & the inspiration of others through Candy’s new christian music group BEAUTIFUL, my ongoing publishing commitments & the quartet PARABLE. “There was never a screening process with the quartet. It’s personnel is made up of individuals that I’m sure God led to be a part of a redemptive process” states Ray. “Tommy Muncey is an accomplished & superb pianist. He brings a lifetime of experience not only as a musician but as a minister to PARABLE. My father passed away 15 years ago. I haven’t called anyone ‘Dad’ since; That is until I married his

daughter Candy. I consider him to be the patriarch of this music ministry as we move forward. He & my mother in law, Kim, have been amazing in their support of all our musical endeavors.” “Chris Rupert is a powerful tenor singer. When Chris & I were just kids, singing with our families, we would see each other week after week at local monthly singings in various churches. He also performed with the Supernals after I left. I’m honored to finally be performing on stage with him after all this time. I lean on his experience & hope to never take it for granted. I wouldn’t have Chris without his wife Dana or his kids

Hayden & Rae. Their inspiration is key & vital not only to Chris but to PARABLE as a family too.” “Keith Howard is a promising talented baritone newcomer to Southern Gospel. I met Keith through an extended ministry of my wife’s. Right away I was aware of his natural born talent. I carried Keith’s encouragement to bed with me many nights while I was carefully considering a quartet formation. His zeal to do whatever it takes reminds me of myself when I was his age. Until now, I’ve never had a protege. Keith’s enthusiasm forces me to relearn the lessons I thought I’d put away for life, so that in so many ways the student has become the teacher.” “Chris Anderson as a bass vocalist was the final piece of PARABLE. Having filled the other positions with quality talent & also quality people, virtually the only pressure I felt in the quartet’s formation was to find one final man of character. Oh! And by the way, he had to be able to sing bass. Chris was a referral from Steve French of The Kingdom Heirs. It didn’t take long to discover that Chris Anderson was the man for the job in every aspect. His humility will prove a vital contribution as we put ourselves in a position to inspire others to Christ.” “Sonny Hinkle as a sound man was as influential as anyone in the formation of PARABLE. I practically grew up with Sonny from grade school. Long before anyone other than my wife had a clue that I was considering a new quartet, He would send me texts & messages encouraging me to do so. The ‘sound guy’ is the one working behind the scenes. In some cases, he is less appreciated by the public for that very reason. I make no distinction between his importance & anyone elses (myself included) to the success of PARABLE. He is a man of integrity who loves God thru his love for other people.” The word PARABLE is defined as ‘A simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson told by Jesus...’ While considering the diverse pasts that have led these men to this opportunistic present, to this definition, they whisper a harmonious... An Exchange That Doesn’t Matter by Dr. Rickey A Nation, PhD

Life is a gift! If your “lot” in life does not seem like a gift. Visit a convalescent home or a cancer war for children. Every time I visit a nursing home. I am reminded how blessed I am and how precious is the gift of life. However, to fully understand the gift in life, it is important to understand an exchange that doesn’t matter. The exchange that does not matter is as old as the earth itself, but nonetheless is as relevant as the air we breathe. What is an exchange that doesn’t matter? It is none other than what we put in places of the best that life has to offer. Examples will be illustrated in terms of contrasts such as black and white. One substitute that women often exchange the best in life for a “false notion/belief” that men or their husbands “must” make them happy. Television, books, magazines, talk shows, as well as radio programs have this theme laced throughout. Each one states “My husband or boyfriend will make me happy or I will find someone who will.” The exchange has been made. The gift of life and all the fullness it brings has been sacrificed on the altar of pleasing others. What a mistake! What a tragedy! To give up the fullness of life and its benefits for a belief that does not work is very, very costly.Hanging onto the mistaken notion that one’s happiness is directly tied into or linked to others is not true. There are many people who are single—either by choice or divorce who are perfectly happy because they have discovered the gifting that life gives to all who seek to find it. Moreover, the gift of life is not found in people, but in the One who has given life—God. The mistaken belief of happiness in people equals life is false, has always been false and will always be false. The last example is common to all. Many people believe the accumulation of wealth brings the true gift of life. Once again, the false notion is founded in the belief that wealth make one happy. To illustrate an exchange that did not matter, I want to share a true story by Charles L. Allen entitled “ Monuments.” It goes as follows: “ In Hiawatha, Kansas, in the Mt. Hope Cemetery stands a strange group of gravestones. A

guy named Davis, a farmer and self-made man, had them erected. He began as a lowly hired hand and by sheer determination and frugality he managed to amass a considerable fortune in his lifetime. In process, however, the farmer did not make many friends. Nor was he close to his wife’s family, since they thought she had married beneath her dignity. Embittered, he vowed never to leave his in-laws a thin dime. When his wife died, Davis erected an elaborate statue in her memory. He hired a sculptor to design a monument which showed both her and him at opposite ends of a love seat. He was so pleased with the result that he commissioned another statue—this time of himself, kneeling at her grave, placing a wreath on it. That impressed so greatly that he planned a third monument, this time his wife kneeling at his future gravesite, depositing a wreath. He had the sculptor add a pair of wings on her back, since she was no longer alive, giving her the appearance of an angel. One idea lead to another until he’s spent no less than a quarter

He is My Greatest Prideby Jack Hodge

As I ponder over my life, I feel how fortunate to have God by my side

As to the things I’ve done in my past He has forgiven, His Love will last

As we talk and plan out my life,I’ll go forward and never think twice

To do Gods work, as He would have me toTo Him be faithful and true

He is with me Night and Day, From His side I will never stray

From Him comes wisdom you see, Walking with Him is where I want to beYes the courage He gives me to go on, He is always there to make me strong

He is the light that fills my sole, He is the greatest story ever been told

I never tire of writing of Him, So I’ll keep on writing, this is my whim

I’ll keep doing the best I can, You know He will make me a better man

Sometime the excitement I fill inside,Rushes through me like the Tide

You can see He is my greatest pride So with Him I will forever abide

million dollars on the monuments to himself and his wife! Whenever someone from the town would suggest he might be interested in a community project (a hospital, a park and swimming pool for the children, a municipal building, etc..), the old miser would frown, set his jaw, and shout back, “What’s this town ever done for me?” I don’t owe this town nothing!” After using up all his resources on stone statues and selfish pursuits, John Davis died at 92, a grim-faced resident of the poorhouse. But his monuments…it’s strange… Each one is slowly sinking into the Kansas soil, fast becoming victims of time, vandalism, and neglect. Monuments of spite. Sad reminders of a self-centered, unsympathetic life. There is a certain poetic justice in the fact that within a few years, they will be gone. Oh, by the way very few people attended Mr. Davis’ funeral. It is reported that only one person seemed genuinely moved by any sense of personal loss. He was Horace England… the tombstone salesman.” Mr. Davis exchanged the gift of life that only God brings for wealth. Most of his life was consumed with and centered around the pursuit of what he thought would make him happy. He died in misery. His exchange did not matter—it did not help him any to fund the gift given free in life. No exchange matters concerning the gift of life because God gives it to those who seek it. Seek life today and all the gifting it brings and you will see that exchanges cannot and do not substitute for the true life God gives. Rickey A. Gods Cornerby Jack Hodge

I’m giving you two chapters to read out of the Bible this month. God’s word is sufficient.

The Book of Psalms Chapter 23 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

The Book of Revelation--Chapter 22 1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. 6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. 8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. 10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and

he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues

that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Then as time goes by we get better. Well for me it was about 15 yrs after the wedding when I finally felt like I could do it. So I came out of the bathroom and with no makeup on at all and I said “Baby, to show you how much I love you I finally feel comfortable enough to go without makeup.” He said, “ Ahhhh....ummmm.. Well honey I feel comfortable enough to tell you please go put it back on!” I couldn’t believe it and thinking he just don’t get what I am saying I said, “ Baby it shows how much I love you.” To which he responded, “ Ok well cute thought baby but if you really love me you will never let me see you like that again.” When we first got married I thought he was such a great nice guy. Well I soon found out I was wrong about him. I called my mom and told her “Mom I don’t think I am going to be able to stick this out and stay with him.” She said “Why in the world not?” I said his language is awful As soon as we got back from our honeymoon it started. All these awful 4 letter words and I can’t live like that.” Mom said “ What do you mean 4 letter words, like what?” I said “ Cook, dust, wash, iron., its just awful.” My husband thinks he is really funny. It all started when he got an iphone then he wanted an ipad, well then my son had to have an ipod so I got upset and said I want something. So today he gives me an I-ron! Which I didn't find funny at all. He said " I don't know why an iron would get you so mad it intergrates great with your iwash, icook iclean." Well this just made my "inag" go into overload! Grandpa, We Love YouBy Glen Davenport - 1988- in honor of his father- in- law; Carl Edwards, who spent the last few years of his life in a nursing home with that awful disease called “Alzeheimer’s”.

A few years ago when Gandpa was wellHe stood out as “one special man.”

His family all loved him and stood by his sideAnd the neighbors would brag now and then.

And Grandpa, We love you as much as we ever did.

What happened was beyond our control.And Grandpa, We love you as much as we ever did.That’s one thing you never lost when you got old.

For most of your life you worked with your hands;

As long as your health would allow.But that awful disease has stolen your mind

And it’s stealing your life from us now.

But Grandpa, We love you as much as we ever did.What happened was beyond our control.

And Grandpa, We love you as much as we ever did.That’s one thing you never lost when you got old.

A few days ago we stood in your room

And tried to show you we cared.But you understood not one thing we didBut Grandpa, We hoped you could hear.

We said, Grandpa, We love you as much as we ever

did.What happened was beyond our control.

And Grandpa, We love you as much as we ever did.That’s one thing you never lost when you got old.

An old gospel song a moment of prayer,

A dinner with all of your kinAnother old story a snicker and grin.Man, I’d love to hear them all again.

‘Cause Grandpa, We love you as much as we ever did.

What happened was beyond our control.And Grandpa, We love you as much as we ever did.That’s one thing you never lost when you got old.

That’s one thing you never lost when you got old.

Linda’s ThoughtsBy Linda Hodge

It’s February. This month is noted as the month of love. Personally I do not like to hear people refer to February as "The Month Of Love". Every month should be considered "The Month Of Love". I realize that we have traditions which many of us follow. Myself included. I celebrate Valentines Day. I give my husband Jack a card or a gift or a hug and kiss on this day. However, Jack knows I love him everyday. Not just on Valentines day. Gods word tells us to "Love one another". Do we, as children of God, realize just what this means? It means we love without exception. When someone offends us in some way we harbor ill feelings against that person. This is wrong. We should love that person even though they may have offended us. We should not ignore them or mistreat them but love them according to Gods word. I know. This is not an easy thing to do but the Bible says we are to do this. I once had someone say to me, "well, if I have to love him than I guess I am just going to hell!" What a horrible statement to make! I would hate to think that way. God tells us to forgive one another as He has forgiven us. Why is it so hard for man to do this? I know it is hard. It is hard for me also. I have faced this many times in my life and I cannot honestly say that I have forgiven with the grace and speed which is required of us in Gods word. There are many things in the Bible that we are commanded to do as "children of God" but if we pray and ask God for his strength and direction we can accomplish this commandment. We must remember though that saying we forgive and actually forgiving are two entirely different things. We can’t just say "I forgive you" we must actually forgive and show we have forgiven by our actions Just saying we have forgiven something is not enough. We must show we mean it. You ask how to do that. For me it means I need to show that I have forgiven by the way I treat a person or by not mentioning it again. If we forgive we must also forget. That is the hard part for me. A lot of us say we forgive but we never forget. When God forgives us our sins He removed them as far as the East is from the West. He never holds them against us. Our sins are not only forgiven but they are wiped away. Can you just imagine for a moment what a loving God we serve? Can you honestly say

with all your heart that when you forgive someone that we Never think of it again. That we Never bring it up again. When God forgives us it is gone forever. We may judge ourselves and remember the incident but to God it is gone. Our sins are washed away. We may repeat the sin but God will never judge us for the sin we have confessed. He is a loving and forgiving God and we, as his children, need to be loving and forgiving as well. This is not easy for man to do. We have a tendency to remember things in our past. Things which displeased us or hurt us in some way. I am no exception to this rule. None of us are. None of us are perfect and none of us ever will be until we are in heaven. We can strive to be perfect but we never will be. You don’t have to speak something. If you feel something in your heart that is evil than you have already committed a sin. Ask God for forgiveness now and "strive" to never do it again. "Strive to do right always. It will not be easy but God knows we "strive" to live the way He wants us to and, as I said earlier, He will forgive us our sins and remove them as far as the east is from the west. May God guide and direct you in all you say and do and may you always desire to serve Him and do as he has told us to do. God bless each of you in your endeavors.

LOL Ministry!By Laura West

I have always been a gal that loves to laugh and to make other people laugh. I am a firm believer that God gave us all our emotions and laughter comes straight from Heaven. I believe that Jesus laughed. Look at the disciples and all their crazy ways I am sure they kept Jesus laughing. The Bible has many verses about being happy and joyful. Proverbs 17:22 says, “Laughter is good like a medicine.” I believe in overdosing. We are so quick to run to the doctors when we are struggling and depressed and get on all sorts of medications to get us through but why don’t we run to the greatest physician of them all, Dr. Jesus! The Lord gave me a ministry called “Laugh Out Loud.” It is a ministry that provides good clean Christian Comedy to all sorts of groups. Clean comedy is so hard to find today. It seems all comedians feel the need to tell sexually oriented jokes and use foul language. Well I am happy to say I will never sell out to this mentality nor lower my standards in order to make money or to get engagements.

LOL not only brings people to tears from laughing so hard but it will also bring them to tears from hearing a message of Gods greatness and love. After I share comedy for about twenty minutes I then share our daughter’s remarkable testimony. She was born blind then at age 15 months old burned in a tub of hot water by her birth mother. Doctors said she would die but the great physician, Jesus, said, no she will rise up. That’s exactly what happened. She is now 16 years old and the Lord has blessed her with an amazing voice. So after I share, she comes up and closes the service with song. There is never a dry eye in the place. I also receive a lot of repeat invites by groups who want me to return to do comedy and then speak on another topic. I can do that as well. I also do a lot of Ladies Retreats and Conferences where there is a theme for the event and my messages will center around that topic. I travel out of state as well. It is my hopes that you will pass my ministry on to others you know. I not only share in churches but I share in schools, civic groups, work places any where that I am invited. May God bless you and may our paths cross one day , if not here then in Heaven!
