Effective risk stratification methods in asymptomatic

carotid artery stenosis has been reported in recent

years, and this has improved the selection of patients

in need of a carotid intervention.

Not only the severity of stenosis, but also history of

contralateral neurological symptoms, plaque features

like JBA and DWA, and CT brain infarcts have all

emerged as powerful predictors of stroke occurrence.
