My dear friends in Christ,

So many of us live with the news of the day. We get up in the morning and put the television on to see what the latest news is. We get into our cars and put the radio on to get the latest news. Sometimes it’s just all bad news. We find ourselves dealing with people who are “hard of face and obstinate of heart,” people who take offense at the least suggested change or mild criticism. Sometimes we struggle with our own problems, thorns in the flesh, Angels of Satan. That’s when we need to keep our eyes and hearts fixed on the Lord, waiting for the healing word: “My grace is sufficient for you.” This is the time of year when the kids are out of school and vacation plans are in full swing and we take the time to put the news behind us to focus on rest and relaxation whether it be at the Jersey Shore or elsewhere. Sometimes the latest news is unavoidable. We must always continue to focus on the Lord and make him a part of whatever we are doing this summer. We continue to ask the Lord for the grace to persevere.

The Sisters of the Servants of The Plan of God had to cancel their visit with us in June and have rescheduled their visit for the month of August. We will publish more details as they are presented to us.

Our search for a new coordinator of religious education is reaching its conclusion and a decision will be forthcoming. Please refer to upcoming bulletins regarding registration for the upcoming religious education program here at Corpus Christi.

R. C. I. A. ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO … has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?

Corpus Christi Parish offers an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our Catholic faith through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), a process which provides for the preparation of the Baptized Catholics who wish to complete their initiation into the Church through the reception of the Sacraments of Confirmations and Eucharist and the preparation of validly Baptized Christians from other faith traditions, who wish to be brought into Full Communion in the Catholic Church. In addition, preparation is also offered for adult Confirmation candidates—those who have been Baptized and received First Holy Communion, but are still in need of the Sacrament of Confirmation.

To learn more about the RCIA, two inquiry weekends remain: July 14-15 and August 18-19 in the Parish Meeting Room. For more information, please call the Rectory Office at 609.877.5322.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION During July and August 2018

We will not be having Eucharistic Adoration of The Most Blessed Sacrament on the First Fridays of July and August, 2018. We encourage you, instead, to visit our Cohort, Resurrection Parish, Holy Name Church on Conrow Road in Delran, NJ 08075. Resurrection Parish offers Perpetual Adoration throughout the year and your presence would be most welcomed at any time of the day or night to visit Jesus in The Most Blessed Sacrament. Our Monthly Eucharistic Adoration will resume here in Corpus Christi Church on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM (this immediately follows the school Mass at 10:00 AM). This is one of the collaborative areas where we, as a cohort, can share and enrich our faith-life. Thank you and God bless.

SUMMER CHOIR

This year our Summer Choir begins July 22, 2018 at the 9:30 AM Mass. If you would like to be a part of this choir just come to the choir loft at 8:45 AM. We’ll warm up and prepare for the Mass. Everyone is invited. If you have never been a part of the music ministry at Corpus Christi, come and see if you like it. If you are already in one of the choirs, come, sing to the Lord and see old friends, and meet new ones! See you in Church.

PARISH COUNSELING SERVICES

A joint effort of the Diocese of Trenton & Catholic Charities provides licensed professionals for short term counseling (up to 6 sessions) to parishioners dealing with difficult issues, for example job-stress, family concerns and bereavement. Contact your Pastor for additional information and referral. The fee is $90 per session, but, if needed, financial assistance is available through the Diocese of Trenton Parish Counseling Services.

50th ANNIVERSARY OF HUMANAE VITAE

Wine & Cheese Discussion, Wednesday, July 25 To commemorate the Anniversary of this most prophetic, controversial and transformational papal encyclical of our time, all Catholic adults are invited to a special wine and cheese discussion of Humanae Vitae hosted by the Dept. of Evangelization and Family Life at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Marlton.
