"We, the present members, have inherited a silent legacy from each and every person who played a part in the evolution of this Club." - A History of Riverhill Country Club

Happy 45th Anniversary Riverhill Country Club!

Riverhill Membership,

Another year at Riverhill Country Club has started. While the history of our club dates back to the 1960's, what we now know as Riverhill Country Club is celebrating its' 45th anniversaryI always feel fortunate to be part of the great history and traditions of our Country Club. We are looking forward to another great year in 2019. What started with the work of Byron Nelson, Joe Finger and Jim Shirley is now an outstanding course and club that is about to surpass 600 members! Thanks to you all and our staff at The Club for helping us carry on the legacy of Riverhill In 2019, we will be working on trees again and Kevin’s crew has already begun bunker repairs and renovations. Our reclaimed water project is almost completed, with a couple of things needing done on our end. The City of Kerrville is in the final stages with TCEQ and will be ready to deliver our water shortly. Chef Blas and his team continue to work on making dining experiences enjoyable and memorable. Our Wine Club program for 2019 is exciting - don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of this experience. As always, we are all dedicated in our efforts to providing the ultimate experience for our Membership. We are looking forward to working in developing new business and creating more activities and programs in order to promote our treasured Riverhill Country Club.

Here is to lowering our handicaps, perfecting our tennis games and having fun at the Club!

From the Desk of Bryan Hargrove Membership Director Immediately after I sign up new members, I welcome them to the “Riverhill family”. I do this because I believe we are a family in a way. In the past, when I have shown prospects the club, members have gone out of their way to introduce themselves and to relate what a great club and wonderful members we have. Loyal members that are sincere about how they feel about Riverhill attribute to our growth as much as anything else. Thank you so much! In celebrating Riverhill’s 45th anniversary, we will be offering a special of $45.00 guest fees on Sunday’s throughout the month of February. This includes cart and range balls. Keep an eye out for more specials celebrating Riverhill’s 45th anniversary. REMINDER: We have gone paperless on the monthly statements. Unless you advised us otherwise, you will receive your statement by email. Please notify the front office if you are not receiving your statement. We can update your address or make sure it’s going to the correct address. Also, if you wish to receive your statement by regular mail, we can do that. Your cooperation is very much appreciated. MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Feb. 2nd- Putting Championship Feb. 20th- Birthday & Anniversary Dining Feb. 26th- Wine Club Check your calendar for all of the other great activities going on at the club. As always, I am Riverhill Proud!! Bryan Hargrove Membership Director

Men’s Golf Association (MGA)

I would like to start off my duties as the new official spokesperson for the MGA by personally thanking my predecessor. I know we all appreciate the great job Niel has done over the past several years and I just hope I can live up to the great standard he set.

I believe 2019 will be a great year for the MGA. We have already seen excellent participation in our January events. Even on a day when the weather forecast was just north of miserable.

On the 12th of January we held a Two Best Net Balls match. First place went to the team of Jeff Harris, Chuck Swallow, Tom Dance and AJ Lovitt. Second place went to the team of Jarred Brummett, Gary Clark, Bart McLaughlin and Brian Dunagan. Colby Mahan was Closest to the Pin on #2.

We held an Individual Stableford on the 17th. Dick Owen was the overall winner with 36 points. In the First Flight, Paul Urban won 1st place with 35 points. Gary Clark was 2nd with 33 points and Raymond Holloway placed 3rd with 32 points. In the Second Flight, Chipper Loggie placed 1st with 32 points. Bart McLaughlin came in 2nd with 29 points and Tom Dance finished 3rd with 29 points. Raymond Holloway shot closest to the pin on #8.

Our final event for January was a Low Gross/Net match held on the 26th. Even though the day’s forecast was calling for chilly temperatures and rain, we still had 9 members compete. Kudos to the intrepid! Steve Ables and Carl Browning tied for 1st Low Gross while Carl Steadman was 1st Low Net and Paul Urban was 2nd Low Net.

February will bring another 3 MGA events. On February 2nd, we will have an Individual Gross/Net match. After our round, we invite all MGA members to participate in the Riverhill Putting Championship which is to be held later in the afternoon. The final two events will be Individual Stableford matches and will be held on February 7th and February 16th.

Lastly, I would like to welcome two new members to the MGA. Ben Silva and Robert Wotolewicz. I would also like to recognize our 2019 MGA Board of Directors. They are Greg Shrader (President), Kyle Bond (Vice-President), Paul Urban (Secretary), Raymond Holloway (Treasurer), Rick Perry, Carl Browning, Gary Clark, Jeff Harris and Jay Dunn.
