Sponsored by the Riverside PTA======Thanks to 52 generous donors, the Pirate’s Treasure annual fund has raised $9,300. Of this, $3,000 will go toward grants for certified staff (proposals will be reviewed in early February), while $6,300 has already gone toward $50 checks for each certified staff member to help cover out-of-pocket classroom expenses. Imagine: If just 100 more families donated $10 each--or 200 more families donated $5 each--we would surpass our $10,000 goal for the year. Every donation amount makes a difference! Donate online via Facebook (no processing fee) or PayPal (2.2% + $0.30 processing fee); or by cash or check (made out to RHS PTA) delivered to the RHS main office (address to RHS PTA Annual Fund, 3218 Rose of Sharon Rd, Durham, NC 27712). Thank you for your support! If you donated to the Pirate’s Treasure in 2018 and did not receive a receipt/acknowledgment, please contact PTA Treasurer Celia Dickerson <[email protected]>.======RHS currently has TWO DonorsChoose projects in need of funding, and donations to BOTH are currently being matched! Check them out here: 1) Mr. Bolen: hearing protection and miscellaneous needs for the machine shop https://www.donorschoose.org/…/supporting-student-…/3874450/ ; and 2) Coach Duncan: new helmets for softball and baseball https://www.donorschoose.org/…/baseball-softball-h…/3817052/======Support Riverside’s award-winning newspaper, The Pirate’s Hook, during its annual sponsor drive: https://www.gofundme.com/2018-hook-sponsor-drive. Your donation helps print and deliver 1,800 copies of each issue to students, teachers, and community members, and to maintain equipment like cameras and computers. Advertisers and sponsors are the paper’s only source of funding.======Little things add up! Thanks to purchases made with VIC cards linked to the RHS PTA, Harris Teeter recently donated $350 to the PTA. If you shop at Harris Teeter, please ask your cashier to link your VIC card to the Riverside PTA, or link online; each time you purchase a HT brand product, a small percentage will go to our school. Cards must be re-linked each academic year, and you can link up to five schools. RHS PTA code is 1904. http://www.harristeeter.com/community/together_in_education/link_to_your_school.aspx
