GO! Our brand new 24-hour fitness center and clubhouse are almost finished, and with so many upcoming events and races in Mount Pleasant, we wanted to share some of our best workout tips and tricks for 2016! 1) Make a Plan: Be consistent and realistic when you set your fitness goals. Start out slow and go at your own pace; you don’t need to go from 0-60 in a day. You will also be more likely to stick to a routine, so schedule your exercise into your day and you will be more motivated and efficient. 2) Get Accountability and Encouragement: Tell your friends about your goals or find a buddy...it really helps to have someone there lifting you up on those hard days. 3) Mix it Up: Build variety into your plan. Help yourself feel great by alternating cardio, resistance training, and weight lifting. Be sure to incorporate flexibility to prevent injury! 4) Get Advice from the Experts: There are so many resources out there to make your life easier. Take some time to download a mobile app or read some articles online to get new ideas. 5) Make it FUN! Tart Is Smart National Cherry Month in February gives you a good reason to choose cherries—specifically tart cherries. Research shows that this sweetly sour snack may lower the risk of heart disease; fight inflammation in arthritis and gout patients; provide relief to sore muscles; and promote better sleep. Tart cherries can also help boost the immune system so grab a handful or enjoy a glass of cherry juice during the cold and flu season to help prevent illness.

Logos of LoveSymbols for love and romance are

everywhere we look: in fine art andmagazines, on billboards and greetingcards, and even on the clothes wewear. Hearts, flowers, gems and othermotifs bring to mind the emotionalqualities of love and how we feelabout our loved ones.

The Romans believed diamonds, worn to symbolize eternal love, weresplinters of fallen stars. The firstdiamond engagement ring can betraced to the 15th century.

The personification of love andcourtship, Cupid is depicted with abow and quiver of arrows. The notionthat being hit by Cupid’s arrow willmake the victim fall in love comesfrom the myth of Cupid and Psyche.

Likely the most common symbol forlove is the heart. At one time, scholarsbelieved the heart was the seat of allhuman emotions. Giving a heartsignified the act of giving everything tosomeone you love.

Roses represent beauty, purity andromance. Each color adds furthermeaning, with red depicting true love.

Doves have long been considereda sign of faithful and eternal lovebecause they remain a pair for life.

The design of the Celtic knot, having no beginning and no end, is atestament to the enduring nature oftrue love.

Because of its hard casing, thescallop shell echoes the protectivequality love sometimes takes. As theshell encircles and protects, sodoes love.

Other symbols of love include theladybug, swan, dolphin and harp.

“If equal affection cannot be,let the more loving be me.”

—W.H. Auden
