OUR STORY R.L. SCHREIBER, INC. is a unique American success story that began with Raymond Leo Schreiber, a natural born salesman and entrepreneur, and our original purveyor. After serving in World War II, he returned to Minnesota to raise a family. That’s when he discovered his knack for selling and become involved with making food & soup bases. When Ray learned Florida restaurants did not have access to high quality food & soup bases, he moved his family to Southeast Florida to start his own food base company, and R.L. Schreiber Inc. was born in 1968. With Ray’s dynamic personality and premium products, business fl ourished. With his unwavering commitment for customer service, Ray created a unique Independent Purveyor network to provide personalized service and delivery to all of his customers. This formula resulted in rapid growth. Distribution expanded nationwide, and customer loyalty ensued.

R.L. Schreiber moved into its state-of-the-art 125,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Kentucky in 2011. We produce over 1,000 items including soup bases, food bases, spices, seasonings, herbs, dry mixes, and custom spice blends. FAQs 1. What is the profi le of your most

successful Independent Purveyors? Our top performing Independent Purveyors come from all walks of life. Most have sales experience and all have a strong drive to succeed. We have Purveyors that are ex-chefs, route salespeople, ex-Military, entrepreneurs, and experience in various sales capacities. Make no mistake, this is a sales position, not just a delivery one!

2. How much income can I expect to make?That depends on your drive and ambition. Our top Independent Purveyors earn over six-fi gure sales commissions annually. You will earn 20–22% average commission on your sales. Our most successful Independent Purveyors call on 100+ customers on a two week cycle with ticket average in excess of $150.00 per invoice. You are only limited by how hard you work and your drive to succeed.

3. What are my Independent Purveyor operating costs?The cost to operate a route varies. Most Independent Purveyors are able to get their business going with an investment of $12,000 to $15,000. The main costs are purchase of a suitable van (3/4 ton or larger), storage facility rent (10’ X 20’), insurance, gas, & truck/van maintenance. Unlike others, we do not charge our Purveyors for their laptop computer or printer. Inventory is consigned, so you do not incur inventory carrying costs.

4. Do I have to pay a franchise fee? Does R.L. Schreiber provide fi nancing for my equipment?

No, we do not charge a franchise fee. You are only responsible for the operating costs described above. Independent Purveyors are expected to provide their own fi nancing for their capital investment. To help facilitate fi nancing to our prospective Purveyors, R.L. Schreiber can introduce you to third party lenders.You are under no obligation to use these lenders.

5. Where/How do Independent Purveyors receive R.L. Schreiber products?Independent Purveyors are responsible for renting storage space to warehouse inventory. Product is ordered through the Independent Purveyor’s laptop and verifi ed through our replenishment system based on sales history. Deliveries are made every two weeks to your storage facility. You are expected to maintain no more than 30 days inventory.

6. How long does it take to become an R.L. Schreiber Independent Purveyor?The time period from interview to actually taking over an independent Purveyor route is typically 4 to 6 weeks.
