RMCMI LIFE MEMBERS

The first Life Member was named at the November 13, 1912 meeting of the Rocky Mountain CoaMining Institute held in Denver, Colorado. He was Floyd W. Parsons, then editor of the magazineCoal Age. He had been instrumental in the organization of RMCMI as evidenced by the early historyIn the ensuing years, many persons have attained the distinction of Life Membership.

An individual who has devoted long and dedicated service to the Institute and to its goals andpurposes may become a Life Member of the Institute upon being elected to that status by the Boardof Directors, and such individual shall retain such status for life. It is the Board of Directors decisionto confer this honor based on nomination information and any other information the Board deemsrelevant to the evaluation process. In conferring Life Member status, the Board of Directors shalstrongly consider long and dedicated service to the goals and purposes of the Institute. This servicemay include a combination of time as a board member, officer, committee chair or committeemember.

The following lists the names of the Life Members preceded by the year they received their LifeMembership. Prior to 1938, we do not have records for the date this honor was given. The RMCMI

office does not always receive notification of the passing of one of our members.
