1.0 TEST PLAN

1.1 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

A caus t i c a d d i t i o n and entrainment system i s t o be i n s t a l l e d a t Double-Shell Tank (DST) 241-AN-107 fo r the purpose of increas ing the f r e e hydroxide ion concentrat ion o f t h e waste. components:

A 75 horsepower r o t a t i n g submersible mixer pump. i n s t a l l e d i n the c e n t r a l pump p i t o f 241-AN-107 and used as a plat form t o i n j e c t , mix. and e n t r a i n caust ic mater ia l w i t h the e x i s t i n g waste.

A caus t i c i n j e c t i o n s k i d containing a metering pump and moni tor ing system. The caus t i c meter ing pump w i l l discharge caust ic soda s o l u t i o n a t a known f l o w ra te . s o l u t i o n added over a given t ime per iod.

A po r tab le mixer pump contro l b u i l d i n g conta in ing e l e c t r i c a l and inst rumentat ion equipment f o r cont ro l1 i n g system operat ion.

1.2 SCOPE

This t e s t procedure prov ides i n s t r u c t i o n s f o r operat ional t e s t i n g o f the caust ic a d d i t i o n and entrainment system a t the Rotat ing Equipment Shop run- in p i t (Bldg. 272E). Procedure WHC-SO-WH-TC-062 Rev.0 Pumping System f o r Caustic Add i t i on Pro ject . Addi t ional operat ional t e s t i n g w i l l be performed once the caus t i c add i t i on equipment has been i n s t a l l e d i n the f i e l d .
