158 people died on rural roads
- Only a third of Victorians live in rural areas but 55% of all fatalities occurred in rural areas.
Number of young drivers (18-25) killed on rural roads was 16 which was seven less than 2010
66 people aged 18-25 died on metropolitan areas which was four less than 2010.
33 of the young drivers killed on the roads in Victoria were drivers.
Young drivers make up 27% of the total drivers killed on Victoria’s roads but they only represent 14% of licensed drivers.
