LCD 的經驗 LCD 爭霸時, 韓國以逆周期投資法取代日本成為 LCD 霸主。在行業處於發展低估，領頭羊企業迫於財務壓力收縮業務時，韓國企業卻大舉投資擴張產能 (政府融資)，當產業結束衰退時，韓國產能充足，開足馬力大量生產，搶佔市場份額。僅 10 年，三星、LG 韓國企業取代夏普、NEC為首的日本LCD企業，韓國成為世界第一LCD面板生產大國。

韓國媒體 Business-Korea 報稱, 在三星供應商向中國京東方出售OLED 螢幕技術後，韓國政府計劃限制向中國出口 OLED 螢幕生產設備。目前之所以還未正式出台，是因為韓國顯示專業委員會還沒能確定哪些技術屬於韓國國家核心技術。

LED 晶粒體積很小、用電量也小 (miniaturization), 在此特性下, 過去被認為 “需要照明、但因燈源體積或功耗太大而無法使用” 的場景, 現在都被 Enable 了。例如: 智慧衣能在縫線處加上 mini LED 讓衣服發光, 甚至追蹤。例如: 無人機作為 3D 光場。
