roadmap to an esp e-learning program
DESCRIPTION
There has been an explosion of commercial E-learning services and companies created for the mass education market now that offering courses online for students has become the norm. Educators have a hard task before them to create online courses that fit their particular ESP program and students, while also creating a sustainable E-learning program. The Global Education and Communication Division at JAIST (Japan Advanced Institute for Science and Technology) is now six months in to starting its own ESP E-learning program. The presenter will share his experiences and students` opinions on two commercial E-learning platforms: Criterion and Iknow!, and an extensive reading program utilizing Kyoto Sangyo University’s MoodleReader Module and E-books. The poster will include the successes, failures and modifications of the program implementation, along with future plans. Presented at College and University Educators English for Specific Purposes Symposium - Kansai 2012,Nara Institute of Science and Technology,2012/09/08TRANSCRIPT
