Webelos transition Webelos to Scout Transition Troop visitations. Tis the season. Contact a Troop and schedule a visit. This is a great month to get it done. Get it done before the great holiday onslaught begins. Give your Webelos something to ponder over the holiday break. Give your 2nd year Webelos a taste of something to look forward to in the coming year when they transition. During Troop visitations. Down- load a list of things to ask as par- ents and leaders when you visit a Troop and meet with the leaders. Ask them about next year's sum- mer camp. How exciting are their plans? When and Where are they going? What will they be doing when they get there? Get yourself excited. A good summer camp is a wonderful time to spend with your Scout without the nor- mal daily distractions. This is your best opportunity to make sure it's going to be a great experi- ence and a priceless memory for both you and your Scout. During November: First Year We- belos leaders, do you have den chief? If not, it's a good time to recruit one. Have you ever tried beascout.org? Just select the Boy Scout tab, enter your zip code and check out the Troops in the area. While you're at it the November 12th Powwow (University of Scouting) has some interesting courses aimed at We- belos adults and leaders. Webe- los Scientist, Webelos Advancement, and What is Den Chief are just a few of the offer- ings. As always, please contact me by email ([email protected]) or give me a call at 817 228 7307 if I can help you contact a troop, look for training, or plan the next step in your Webelos transition.
