Robert Kelly B. Arch
Proficient in Vectorworks, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Sketchup, Maxwell Render, hand sketching and modelmaking.
Important in developing my projects is a workflow between hand sketching and concept models to computer drawings and renders.
I am skilled in modelmaking using card, plaster, concrete, timber and metal.
I have a keen interest in rock climbing and mountaineering. During my third year at SAUL I was president of the University climbing club. This entailed assuming a leadership roll on many of the club trip, as well as ensuring the day to day running of the club and delegating tasks to other committe members.
During my final semester in UL I took an elective in photography through which I was able to develop skills in both the creative and technical aspects of photography. The course culminated in an exhibition in Limerick School of Art and Design.

Thesis Work Burren: Developing An Embodied Understanding of A Place
The Burren in north west Clare is famous country wide as a place of impeccable natural beauty. This has attracted large amounts of visitors to the area who engage in many activities, but unfortu-nately, the infrastructure of the region has yet to adapt to the new pressures being exerted by these activities. The program for my thesis, including beach facilities and overnight accommodation, is reaction to this lack of infrastructure. It is a means for one to have a richer experience of the landscape whilst limiting potential damage caused by an increased number of people. Through the application of different materials in particular ways, I have sought to enhance a person’s perceptions of different moments in this place, thereby increasing awareness of its particularities.
