scholarship requirements carefully. Make sure your paperwork is in the correct order

according to each scholarship.

application. o Each scholarship has a separate application that must be signed and attached to the

required documents.

o You will need to request only one transcript from our registrar, Ms. Suggs. The cost will

Scholarship winners will not be announced until the Awards Day Ceremony on May 8th, 2019.

You will be notified if you are a recipient of any of the listed scholarships prior to the awards

ceremony. PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO ATTEND.

Shadycrest Elementary PTA Scholarship


Purpose: To provide financial assistance for further education (at a 4-year university, junior or community college, or accredited trade school) to a former Shadycrest Elementary student

who is currently a graduating high school student from Pearland ISD.

Scholarship Award: There shall be at least one scholarship awarded yearly, and the scholarship shall be awarded in the amount of $1,000

Scholarship Eligibility:

Must have attended Shadycrest Elementary for at least one school calendar year. Must be a graduating Pearland ISD high school student. Meet school attendance guidelines as stipulated by the State of Texas. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, based on school’s permanent records, for the last two years.

Application Requirements: 1. Read and sign this application AND the RTCCHS Local Scholarship cover sheet. 2. Written essay of up to 200 words about the student’s time at Shadycrest Elementary.

3. Provide a transcript, personal history, and profile page. 4. Provide a letter of recommendation from an outside source. (Not a family member)

It is understood that the committee shall be composed of three (3) or five (5) representatives from the Shadycrest Elementary PTA. The committee will screen anonymous applicants and select a maximum of twelve (12) candidates. The number of

recipients will be selected according to the number of scholarships available. The committee may choose to interview the candidates as part of the decision making process.

If the committee chooses to conduct interviews, the interview dates will be determined by the Scholarship Chairperson in coordination with the THS Counselor’s office. If applicable, applicants will be notified of the interview date and time by The THS Counselor’s office.

Scholarship Award: One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a PHS, DHS, or THS student. Scholarship Eligibility:

Purpose: To encourage and assist Pearland ISD Seniors whose wish is to

continue their studies at a four-year college/university; a two-year community college; or a trade/technical school. This scholarship will be awarded based on merit, rather than need.

Scholarship Award: Awarded amount and number of scholarships will be determined prior

to the Senior Awards Ceremony. Amounts range from $750 to $2,000, with multiple scholarships awarded.

Eligibility: MUST be a Pearland ISD PTA Member at related High School (Parent or Student) no later than October 31st, 2017.

Scholarship Award:

Scholarship/s will be awarded in the amount of $1000 each. Scholarship Eligibility:

Must be in the top 50% of graduating class Must have participated in a school or community activity

Application Requirements: (needs to be submitted in the following order)

1. Read and sign 2. Personal History and Profile pages must be attached. 3. 500 word essay on one of the following topics:

a) Safe disposal vs. illegal dumping. What causes illegal dumping and how should we prevent it? Discuss (in detail) 3 safe dumping methods, and then provide 3 causes and proposed solutions for illegal dumping.

b) Reduce and Reuse vs. Recycling. Which is better? Provide a strong case for your argument, and then propose a way to improve the side you chose. Be sure to discuss the current conditions in the U.S for either choice.

c) Landfills vs. Open dumps. Discuss the differences between the two. Then provide a new solution on dealing with Solid Waste in the U.S.

Brazoria-Galveston County Farm Bureau Scholarship


I. The Scholarship Committee of Brazoria-Galveston County Farm Bureau will select

the individual to receive the $4,000 scholarship.

II. To be eligible to receive the scholarship, an applicant must:

a. Be a graduating high school senior of a Brazoria or Galveston County high school.

b. Turn in completed application form accompanied by a high school transcript, and

SAT and/or ACT test results.

c. Plan to attend a college, technical or trade school and take a minimum of 12 credit

hours. (Will be required to provide proof of registration.)

d. Give a personal interview before the scholarship committee if deemed necessary by

the committee.

e. The applicant must be a son or daughter of a current Brazoria-Galveston County

Farm Bureau member. If awarded, parents must maintain membership for the

duration of the scholarship.

III. The money will be paid directly to the college/school as follows:

1st Year- $500 the fall semester upon proof of registration for a minimum of 12 credit

hours. $500 the spring semester, upon proof of registration for a minimum of 12

credit hours and a minimum 2.0 GPA maintained the preceding semester.

2nd Year- $500 the fall semester and $500 the spring semester with registration for 12

credit hours minimum and minimum 2.0 GPA the preceding semester.

3rd Year- $500 the fall semester and $500 the spring semester with registration for 12

credit hours minimum and minimum 2.0 GPA the preceding semester.

4th Year- $500 the fall semester and $500 the spring semester with registration for 12

credit hours minimum and a minimum 2.0 GPA the preceding semester.

Scholarship stops if at any time the requirements for a semester are not met.

AMOUNT $2,000.00 to be paid to the credit of student’s account at the college of his/her choice, over two years.

ELIGIBILITY 1. A scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student entering a college. If the Scholarship

Selection Committee approves no student, this award will not be made for this year.

2. The student must have been a resident of Brazoria County for at least one (1) year before he/she is eligible for the scholarship.

3. The student should be pursuing a career in veterinary medicine or an agricultural related

field.

4. The student must be planning to attend a two or four year accredited or approved college

or university.

5. Student must pass 12 semester/quarter hours maintaining a 2.0 grade point average or

will forfeit scholarship.

Brazoria County Fair Association Scholarship


2019 SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

Scholarship awards of (1/4 per semester) each will be given to selected outstanding Brazoria

County 12th grade students pursuing a career in any field.

Eligibility requirements are as follows:

1. Applicant must be a graduating 12th grade high school student currently enrolled in a state-accredited

Brazoria County school.

2. Applicant must be a resident of Brazoria County and at least one parent or guardian must be a current

member of the Brazoria County Fair Association. (Annual or Life Membership accepted)

3. Applicant must have competed in a scheduled fair sponsored competition for at least two years in his/her

9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade year. This includes any off-season fair sponsored event. Fair parade does

not qualify as a competition.

4. Applicant must be planning to attend a 2 or 4 year accredited or approved college or university, or trade

school.

5. Scholarship payments, to include books, tuition and related fees, will be made to the college, university,

or trade school of the winners’ choice, at the rate of $1000.00 per semester, up to $2,000.00 per year, not

to exceed $4,000.00 over a two year period. In the case of trade school recipients, payment schedule

may be adjusted to meet different semester and total term requirements.

6. Applications must be completed and received in the Brazoria County Fair Office, P.O. Box 818,

Angleton, Texas 77516 by the date specified on the application.

7. Selection of the scholarship winner will be made by the Brazoria Country Fair Association, Inc., and

will be announced at each respective school’s award program.

8. Student must pass 12 semester/quarter hours maintaining a 2.0 grade point average or will forfeit

scholarship.

9. Semester grades and proof of enrollment for the upcoming semester must be sent to the Brazoria County

Fair office before next semester is paid.

10. Merit must exist to be awarded a scholarship.

PURPOSE:

To encourage and assist a worthy Pearland ISD senior whose wish is to continue his/her studies at a four- year college/university, a two-year community college, or a trade/technical school in Texas.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Three $500.00 scholarships will be awarded selecting one recipient from each high school in Pearland ISD.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY The candidate must be a graduating senior from Pearland High School, Dawson High School, or

Purpose:

To encourage and assist a worthy Turner High School senior whose wish is to continue his/her studies at a four-year college/university, a two-year community

college, or a trade/technical school.

Scholarship Award:

Amount to be determined before the Senior Awards Ceremony

Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a Turner High School senior at the time of application.

It is understood that the Lions Club Scholarship recipients will be paid directly by the

Scholarship Committee Chairperson upon approval of the President and Treasurer as follows:

50% upon producing a valid registration and class assignment form of the first semester that has been pre-paid by student. Students must maintain a minimum of 12 hours per semester.

The remaining 50% will be paid for the second semester when the above information is provided along with a current transcript showing 1st semester

grades with minimum GPA of 2.0

National Honor Society Scholarship


Purpose:

To provide financial assistance for further education (at a 4-year university, junior or community

college, or accredited trade school) to a former National Honor Society member who is currently a

graduating high school student from Pearland ISD.

Scholarship Award:

There shall be 2 scholarships awarded to juniors in the amount of $500 each and 4 scholarships awarded to seniors in the amount of $500 each.


Must be a current National Honor Society member for at least one school calendar year. Must be a current junior or senior at Robert Turner College and Career High School.

Meet school attendance guidelines as stipulated by the State of Texas. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, based on school’s permanent records, for the last two years.

Application Requirements:

1. Read and sign this application AND the RTCCHS Local Scholarship cover sheet. 2. Written essay of up to 500 words about what the student has done to help out their National

Honor Society chapter. 3. Provide a transcript. 4. Provide a letter of recommendation from an outside source. (Not a family member or NHS

sponsor) 5. Provide a Resume/Profile listing academic honors, high school activities, volunteer and

community service, work experience, hobbies, and personal leadership evidence.

It is understood that the committee shall be composed of three (3) or five (5) representatives from
