the LINK on BURNETIn the heart of uptown Cincinnati, surrounded by Cincinnati Children's Hospital land the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, The Link on Burnet will be the iconic gateway to Avondale.
Among a slew of new development in uptown, what makes The Link stand out is the public gathering space. A plaza with surrounding retail will bring life to the corner of Forest and Burnet. A second outdoor space above Burnet Avenue will be a great place for those who live or work at The Link. This semi-private space will also double as a venue for private events, set with the gorgeous backdrop of Uptown Cincinnati.
The Link on Burnet will bring people together for work, for
meet and exceed any tenants needs, perfect for the large institutions in the Uptown area that may be expanding. One and two-bedroom apartments will be leased to residents of the area who qualify for low-income housing. This is a great option for the 50,000 people who work in the surrounding neighborhoods. Retail tenants will choose The Link to be close to the action that it is sure to bring to the area.
Surrounding Area Analysis—There are three parcels in our project, parcel A, B & C. The total area is 3.7 acres. Parcel A & B locate on the west of Burnet Av., and parcel C locates on the east of Burnet Av. All of them on the south of Forest Ave.
and education school to support it. Burnet Av. connects Avondale Neighborhood to downtown area, and Forest Av. connects Reading Rd. to Cincinnati Zoo, which are the opportunity for attracting people form outside area.
In the meantime, Cincinnati Zoo and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital are the main attractions. A new Avondale Town Center will build three blocks away in next 2 years. The major concept of this design is to provide a majority of public spaces as needed for both residential and office uses. The Bridge provides a double layer opportunity to achieve the goal. Meanwhile, several terrace has been added on the construction by slightly changingm massing.
Also, the Plaza has been preserved and renovated to show a welcoming attitude. The famous barbique cart has been saved as a landmark. the difference between the plaza and the bridge is that the bridge is more private and the plaza is suitable for varies types of use.
The bridge is designed by several resons. First is for the safety issue. Most of the residential and office space have been l i fted to the second floor. So these two major function would be saved in a safe zoon.
Second, to create two layers of interactive space. It will deinately improve the life quality for both
