Why robot?

THESIS

With microcontroller, the capability of the Robot can be maximized.

In terms of Energy Efficiency:

We can use SOLAR ENERGY for: charging the Batteries (SOLAR PANEL)

Quick info about SOLAR PANELS:

A typical 6"x6" cell puts about Volt, and about 7 AmpsDCPower.Watts = Volts x AmpsSo one gets about 0.5 Volts * 7 Amps = about a maximum of 3.5 Watts from the cell.If you put 4 of the cells together, you get about 14 watts per square foot, or about 0.014 kw per square foot (with 1000 watts per kilowatt). This is more or less the maximum power you might expect to get with noon-time sun during the summer.

CONFIGURATION OF VOLTAGE AND CURRENT

Solar panels are made up of multiple solar cells. If the cells are wired in parallel, one increases the amps. If the cells are wired in series, one increases the volts.

WHY MEDICINE?

Medication problems are widespread. According to the Department of Health and Human Services:

55 percent of the elderly are "non-compliant" with their prescription drugs orders, meaning they don't take the medication according to the doctor's orders

Approximately 200,000 older adults are hospitalized annually due to adverse drug reactions

There are many reasons why ADULTS(ESPECIALLY seniors) don't take their medications as prescribed. Here are some common causes of medication mistakes, and what to do about them.

Vision Problems

For elders who havevision problems, not being able to read small print on labels or distinguish between pills can lead to potentially dangerous misuse.

Memory Loss

Elders who suffer from dementia orAlzheimer's diseasemay simply forget to take their medications, causing them to skip doses. The opposite is also true: if they can't remember whether they took their medication, they might take it again, causing overdose.

How our target works

The robot is carrying a small case wherein well-organized medicines are placed.

When the assigned task is due, it will automatically proceed to the User. It will be able to determine the User by the Device. As the Robot approaches, the device either vibrates or alarms.

Scenario:

What if the user misplaced the device and it is still reachable?

The Robot must receive a confirmation from the User. (can be a simple Pushbutton OK that needs to be pressed to designate that the medicine was taken)

Either the device is reachable or unreachable, after 3-10mins of without confirmation, the robot will ALARM(talk if possible).

ADVANTAGE:

Materials are available just around Pampanga-Manila.

For more accurate medicine intake of the User.

No more doubts especially for elders.

DISADVANTAGE:

Limited use to House, Office, or Classrooms.

Can deliver other items aside from Medicine but limited to size/weight(depending on the Case).

Weight directly varies with the capability of the wheel.
