Metamorphic rocks were once igneous orsedimentary rocks. Over thousands ofyears, heat andpressure from Earth cause rocks to becomemetamorphic rocks.http://www.flickr.com/photos/lenbo/with/443032286/ 14. This is slate. The Rock Cyclehttp://schools.cbe.ab.ca/b348/students/Grade3/RocksAndMinerals/rockcycle.htmlhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/lenbo/with/443032286/ 18. Be a Rock Hound Start collecting rocks today. Visit river and stream beds to find smoothrocks. These rocks have been smoothedby the water that runs over them. You can also buy rock kits that have rocksand ways to polish the rocks. There are many books about rocks so youcan learn what kind of rocks you have.http://www.flickr.com/photos/lenbo/with/443032286/ 19. When you collect rocks, you have to makesure you dont get hurt. Wear gloves. Sometimes rocks can give you slivers and quartz is sharp enough to give you a nasty cut. Rocks are hard and often rough. They can scratch you as well as any furniture you put it on. Wash you hands thoroughly after handling rocks and before eating. Some minerals can make you sick. Dont wash your rocks in the sink at home. You could scratch the sink and the dirt could clog up your pipes. Wash your rocks in a tub of water and dump the water on your flowerbed outside.http://www.rocksforkids.com/RFK/collecting.html#Where 20. Some of the rocks from my collection.geode fossil fossilpuzzles
