RFI Clarifications Front End and Bid Documents

1. What is the schedule for the project?

The current Construction Schedule is 1 year from Notice to Proceed

RFI Clarifications Drawings and Specifications

1. What is the size of the opening for the Fire Counter Door?

9’-0”Wide x 4’-0”High

2. Drawing S2.1 have a separate column schedule tagged as C1 thru C5; however no

other drawing identify these column with these tag. Please provide drawing with the column location.

Next to the tag (C1-C5) you will find the type of HSS column the tag pertains to. These relate directly to the sizes given in the Expanded Column Schedule where you will find the location for each one. C4 and C5 are the round tube col. At the back entrance, see dwg. S3.0 for Detailed info.

3. Please provide true view elevations in addition to the skewed elevation is the CD set.

Also, please eliminate shading so that we can clearly identify the materials in elevation.

Some additional elevations maybe provided in future addendum. See attached revised elevations without shadows.

4. Reflected Ceiling plan is showing partial exterior soffit. Example - Area around the

Exercise/Dance Room 209. From the sections the soffit goes around the entire area. Can you revise the drawings to at least show a dashed line & note its the soffit above. Other examples - Entry canopy, Multipurpose room roof & A

All overhanging soffits have the wood look metal system.

5. Please provide Flooring type for Corridors [100], [101], [102] and their Limits on the Drawing

Please refer to revisions on A10.1a. with transitions called out as well.

6. Please provide Flooring type for Vestibule [103] and their Limits on the Drawing

Please refer to revisions on A10.1a. with transitions called out as well.

7. In Finish Plan A10.1B what shall be the floor finish for Alcove Entry of A302 from Corridor A210

That alcove entry will still be the Corridor 210 PTF floor finish, it transitions to Activity/ Arts A302’s LVT finish in the door threshold.

8. What is the existing floor finish of [131] Stage [to repair and refinish] Area

Existing flooring on the stage is a hardwood floor approx. ¾” thick

9. Alternate 3 states to give an alternate for Skyfold in lieu of the manual systems.

The Skyfold Alternate is only for the Main Multi-Purpose rooms 120, 121, &122

10. The question pertains to the flat roof overhang spray foam insulation. It is listed as full

filled with closed cell spray foam (See A5.0,A5.1,A5.7) The closed cell insulation in these areas is a vapor barrier. The steel outriggers are 5” deep, the foam only needs to be 2” and in between the outriggers on the underside of the roof deck.

11. Per drawing S1.1A along Grid line D & Grid line 6 on Section detail F3.5B/S2.4 note

says that Bottom of New Footing Elevation to match bottom of existing footing, Please provide elevation of existing footing.

There is no existing Information for this area, the elevation will need to be verified in the field assume a 5’-0” bottom of footing for pricing.

12. Per Drawing S2.4 section detail of Footing is 26" x 12" while on the drawing S1.1A &

S1.1B Foundation Plan the size of footing is 24" x 12", Please clarify which one to follow.

Use 26”X12”

13. Per drawing A1.1A First Floor Plan on section 1/A5.9 it shows strip footing and foundation wall along Grid line E. While in the Drawing S1.1A Foundation Plan Area A there is no strip footing and foundation wall shown along Grid line E, Please clarify. –

Follow structural plan.

14. Manufacturer change revised Section as Follows: Section 084113 Aluminum Framed Entrances and Storefronts Revise Paragraph 2.4B and C.1 to read as follows:

A. Basis of Design Product: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide Kawneer; 500T Insulpour Thermal Entrance Door or one of the following: 1. EFCO; D502 ThermaStile. 2. Wausau; Therml-Block.

B. Entrance Doors: Manufacturer's standard glazed entrance doors for manual-swing operation. 1. Door Construction: 2-1/4-inch overall thickness, with minimum 0.125-inch- thick,

extruded-aluminum tubular rail and stile members. Mechanically fasten corners with reinforcing brackets that are deeply penetrated and fillet welded or that incorporate concealed tie rods.
