Our speaker today was William C. Roberts, curator of the Lady Lake
Railroad Museum. This little known museum is located behind the
Log Cabin office of The Chamber and is the same station that the
people of Lady Lake built, to attract the trains to stop at Lady Lake .
The railroad was established in this area in 1883. The museum con-
tains many artifacts from that era as well as a HO gauge layout
maintained by The villages Model Railroad Club, that depicts the
town as it was in the 1880’s. Stop by, you are never to old to learn
more about the area history.

Boggy Creek is Preparing for Summer Camp!
Children with serious illnesses are counting down the days to experience the joy of Camp and you can be a part of the excitement! We hope you will join our efforts as we prepare for over 1,000 children to enter our gates. Summer Camp begins on June 1st and our goal is to raise $50,000 to support more children, so they can escape the struggles of their illness and just be kids. All gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000 by an anonymous donor. This match opportunity will allow us to fill three cabins for a week of summer camp!
Since 1996, Camp Boggy Creek has made it possible for over 80,000 children and family members to enjoy a camp experience in a safe, medically-sound en-vironment. There is never a charge to campers or their families to experience the life-changing programs at Camp. That is why we need your help. We rely entirely on the generosity of individuals, foundations, corporations, medical partners and voluntary health organizations who believe in our Mission and those we serve.
