What is the CASE Committee? CASE is a committee which is distinct from

but not exclusive of the Governing Committee. Its main focus is on the accountability of the team leaders, coaches and governors. Areas of concern and interest for CASE include the adherence to the constitution, responsibilities to the team and players and qualifications for being a leader.

Please make sure that everyone on the team knows about CASE.

What is the CASE Committee? (continued) Anyone can turn to CASE if a problem is

recognized and the team leaders are unable to resolve it. In this way, problems can be contained, weaknesses in the league can be brought to the attention of the CCSA, specific team needs can be met and unbiased solutions can be reached.

Before requesting CASE assistance, one should prayerfully approach the head governor of the team involved to share one’s concern in love. If this does not lead to a resolution, then CASE should be contacted.

The “Mathew 18 Principle”"If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.“

What should we do when another Christian has sinned against us? 

Three guiding principles for every Christian to follow:

I. Go to the person in private (v. 15). Above all else, go to him with the idea of winning your brother, not winning an argument. When you do it in strict privacy it will make it easier for him to confess the sin.

II. Ask for the help of others (v. 16). Only after we have prayerfully followed step 1 should we go to step 2. If the sinning brother refuses to listen we may then share the facts as we see them with one or two dependable believers and ask them for their prayerful counsel. It is possible that we are wrong. If they feel the cause is right, then together we can go to the offender and try once again to win him.   

III. Ask the church for  help (vv. 17-20) After you have followed steps one and two and the sinning brother still fails to recognize his error, the situation should be brought before the entire Church (C.A.S.E.) However we must keep in mind that our goal is not the winning of a case but the winning of a brother. If this person still refuses to acknowledge his sin he is to be treated as an outsider but not hated.

What are the goals of the CCSA?

To initiate and encourage greater participation & fellowship among churches

To foster greater interaction and unity of fellowship between church members

To outreach/ evangelize to non-Christians and nominal Christians in order to incorporate them into existing fellowships and churches

To provide wholesome recreation Provide opportunity for newer & older

Christians to grow; be discipled and further grounded in their Faith ,and develop potential leadership within the church & this ministry

The Head Coach To be a Spiritual Mentor to demonstrate concern and

friendship to each player, regardless of playing abilities.

Focus is on the mechanics of the game and in the organization/ administration of the team.

to lead and help players play the game

to organize each game so that all player will play and feel that they are a part of the team.

to teach the game of softball. to assist the assistant coaches in

the performance of their duties.

Head /Asst. Governor

Focus is on the spiritual health & direction of the team. to discern God’s purpose / direction for the team and to communicate this unifying vision to teammates and to the Head Governors of other teams. to develop e a concrete plan to accomplish God’s goals for the team which should involve organizing, training, motivating and mobilizing of team members, i.e. assembling a ministry team. to counsel, advise, correct and discipline team members from Scripture. to take an active role in all aspects of the spiritual well-being of the members of the team to personally supervise & co-ordinate the delivery of pregame and postgame devotions to consistently pray for each member of the team to serve as a link between the host church and the team to network with the Head Governors of other teams

What is a Devotion? A method of communicating God’s

Word. A time of spiritual focus and teaching. A medium through which the Gospel is

taught in an interesting and relevant manner.

A time of fellowship and interaction among the members of each team.

Why do Devotions? To embrace a sacred, spiritual focus for

every game, and to preach the Gospel To encompass the CCSA theme for

outreach and fellowship. To emphasize team spirituality rather

than competition and rivalry. To enhance team participation and

involvement.

How does one DO a Devotion?

Involve as many team members as possible...particularly the coaches.

Create an open forum for ideas. Develop a stable formula. Keep it simple, but know your stuff. Please Remember the Non-

Christians!!!! Have Fun !
