I am very passionate about teaching English because I receive a
great deal of joy when a student takes pride in what they have written or
takes comfort in reading a book to vicariously live in a world beyond the
one they know. English makes these ideals and so many more available to
the minds of students every day. I believe that the type of influence it
instills in them can someday be the catalyst that gives them a glimpse of
greatness. I take pride in being able to take part in that.
The qualifications and professional knowledge I can bring to your district
include:
• {A Professional and Responsible Demeanor}
• {An Excellent Ability to Immediately Establish Rapport}
• {A Devotion to Creating and Maintaining Autonomy In the
Classroom}
• {An Understanding of Consistency Management and Cooperative
Discipline}
• {A Bachelors Degree with Honors in English Language Arts}
• {Engaging and Fulfilling Lesson Plans and Curriculum Based Tactics
to Provide Students with Extraordinary Learning Experiences}
I believe that any and all of these qualifications make up the core of
the qualities in the educational professional that you would want in your
district. If you are looking for someone who is an honest and natural teacher who isn’t afraid to show students what they are truly capable of,
then you would need to look no further. I can be reached in confidence at
the above telephone number or email address and I look forward to
hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,

“The reward for being a teacher is not the personal gain you receive,
but rather the knowledge of what you have imparted to others and the
growth they make over time.”
Experience:
Central Middle School, Galveston, TX (2005-2006)
*Served as a volunteer teachers aid in a 7th grade math classroom to gain a
better understand of the requirements for teaching at that grade level.
*Provided written assessments of students individual needs and supported
the teacher there in an effort to support students, namely those who struggled at a
remedial level.
*Helped with several after school activities including tutoring, individual
student help, and activities before and after school which required student help. I
wasn’t paid for any of these events; however, I have gained a great amount of
understanding about the teaching process as a result of being there.
Westchester Academy for Int’l Studies, 901 Yorkchester, Spring Branch, Tx.
(2008-2009)
*This is where I did my first official school observation as required for the
University of Houston.
*Here, I witnessed what it would be like to teach a hybrid class between both
English and Texas History in the same room.
*Learned a great deal about the cooperative grouping and discipline of
students. The teacher was kind enough to show me the benefits of consistently
managing both the students and her personal tasks as a teacher.
Friendswood Junior High, Friendswood, Tx. (2010)
*My first recorded and monitored experience in a student teaching program.
The first few weeks were a combination of monitoring with a general amount of
input. The remainder of the time had me in the position of being the actual teacher
of the class while being monitored by the actual teacher, Mrs. Ferro.
*Created innovative and engaging lesson plans which kept my students
engaged. (Ex: At this level they must learn literary terms and devises in order to
better comprehend textual material, so in between lesson we would incorporate

both visual and hands-on learning via the technology from the grant the school
recently received. Meaning, instead of having them sit in their seats to do
corrections of work with terms, they could operate in groups using an ENO board (a
digital interactive white board).
*Was responsible for doing every basic requirement including: monitoringstudent progress before, during, and after class, taking and observing the
attendance rate, offering tutorials, creating engaging lesson plans that both
increase their analysis and comprehension skills while grouping them together to
collaborate on projects, and learning my students on a one-on-one basis to
understand their learning needs and the best path to engage them.
University of Houston, Houston, TX (2007-2010
Bachelor’s Degree in English Language Arts/Literature and a Bachelor’s
Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, (Officially graduating December 17, of this
year).
Additional Information:
*Participated in a community program through “The Boys and Girls Club”
where underprivileged children from around the area would come to a building we
refurbished during the summer to have fun in a safe and friendly environment
without being in the streets. Weekly, we would also read and learn as a group
depending on where their needs where. Instruction included math, reading, andscience. The program was fun an easy for students due to the fact that the
organization donated books for us to use and gave us the funds provide the children
with sports and recreational activities.
*Worked as a manager for CVS Pharmacy for the last 5 five years while in
school and as a result have learned an in-depth set of leadership skills that I feel will
benefit me in the classroom setting. The same way I cooperate and set expectations
for my employees while monitoring their progress and workload is crucial when
teaching and cooperating with a student in the classroom. Teaching, like managing,
is a group effort that provides opportunities and benefits for those who learn as well
as those who teach.
*Taken a wide range of Spanish courses at the University of Houston and
Texas AM. While I may not be completely fluent, I have engaged the language and
can cater to ELL students.

Personal Details:
*I will be graduating this year and I look forward to engaging a classroom
with everything that I have taken from my experience as a student and as a student
teacher. I have received several recommendations from Friendswood Junior High
where I have done my entire student teaching program am still receiving eagerrequests from teachers for when I’m ready to teach after graduation so that I can
come and sub for them.
I Love the teaching process as a whole and my student teaching was no
exception. My students this year loved my so much to the point that they actually
donated enough books for my future classroom library for my classroom. They were
sad to see me go and determined to be a part of wherever I go by giving me the
best of what they felt they had read that year.
