O Assists with employee safety and training related activities.

O Maintaining employee data in HR systems is a
required skill.
O Generates and performs preliminary analysis of a
variety of reports using HR systems.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge:
O Knowledge of fundamental principles and practices
of public human resources administration
O current relevant federal and state laws and
regulations related to human resources
O techniques and methods for recruiting and testing
in the public sector
O basic worker’s compensation law and procedural
requirements as they relate to claims processing
and management
O fringe benefit program administration and
requirements.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Ability:
O Ability to perform a variety of professional, technical, confidential and analytical human resources functions with minimal guidance and supervision
O communicate effectively orally and in writing to gather information
O explain policies or procedures and to persuade others to accept or adopt recommendations
O interact tactfully and effective with others; exercise independent judgment, discretion, initiative
O maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and comply with legal requirements
O ability to operate a computer using word processing, applicant tracking and spreadsheet software applications
