GOD IS ON THE MOVE: It is hard to believe this Religious

Education year has ended. I can remember starting VBS last year

with so much uncertainty. My world was changing with my kids

being gone and not having Mary in the office. I was uncertain if I

would come back this year. I felt very much at loose ends. I knew

the Holy Spirit would show me the way. AND I WAS SO RIGHT!

VBS was over the top the whole week and ended with one of the best

Children’s Mass ever. Fr. Brennan rocked it. I can remember

holding hands around the table thinking Jesus is right here with us.

As the year approached, the Oto children became my adopted

kids…they did anything I asked and more. Then an angel came to

me in the form of Tori Fedora who became my right hand person.

Although I still see her as a little girl in footie pj’s, I could not be

prouder of the young women she has become.

Grouping the Children’s Mass together with breakfast became a

great way to celebrate community. THANK YOU MEN’s CLUB.

Turkey Mass was, as always, one of my favorites with tears on how

blessed we are with our kids (although Emma was only thankful for

her mom when her dad and brother were there). During Adventure

Celebration, hearing what our Pre K and third grade students

wanted for Christmas and were thankful for was the best.

Christmas Eve Children’s Mass we learned what it means to be

there for each other. Catechist Appreciation was over the top with

love for our Parish Family. (Yes, Joe LaGorga is my father.)

Stations were the best with the highest attendance. THANK YOU

everyone; and, yes, Helen we all learn from you. As always Bishop

Zubik is wonderful and makes us all want to be better.

Confirmation was the best. THE HOLY SPIRT WAS ALIVE!

And, yes, Mackenzie rocked it. First Communion was wonderful

and Jesus was alive in all of their faces.

One last memory is a Sunday where there was a Children’s Mass. A

parishioner came in and told me Noreen needed me. After a few

minutes, Dennis and I ran to GetGo to a car accident. (YES, I AM

SO OUT OF SHAPE.) As we walked back into church with Emma,

everyone knew something was wrong. As I watched people pray

after Mass then in the classrooms, I realized how blessed we are.

After class, many parents stopped and asked is there anything they

could do. That is parish family. GOD IS ALIVE IN EVERY ONE

OF US, AND WE ARE PARISH FAMILY!

I am truly blessed, and change has shown me that God has a plan.

As I say good bye to this year, I say hello to next year’s changes.

Yes, I am planning on coming back and I AM EXCITED FOR

NEXT YEAR! I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT MIRACLES ARE

IN STORE FOR US!

God Bless and Let the Spirit Guide You,

Anita

The Body and Blood of Christ

Faith has many important facets

that are effective in our lives.

Prayer and worship connect us to

the God created us and who daily

gives us purpose and provides for

us. Times of community and fellowship unite us

with our family in faith to realize that we are not

alone on our journey of love with God. Outreach

and charity put our faith into action so that we can

be the hands and heart of Jesus in the world and

provide for the needs of others. Yet, at the heart of

our faith, its essential foundation, is the gift of God

himself to his people, the Eucharist. The Eucharist

is the memorial of God’s great act of love for us, the

death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus. The

Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Christ made

truly present so that we might be nourished to do

the work of God in the world. The Eucharist is the

source of our life as people of faith and that to

which we return all that we have received in

thanksgiving to God. Inspired by this Feast of

Corpus Christi and as we journey On Mission for

The Church Alive! may our love for the Eucharist

increase so that our faith may remain strong in the

midst of change. Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to

learn more and to stay informed
