XXI NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA 21 SIERPIEN 2016

WEJŚĆ PRZEZ CIASNĄ BRAMĘ

Łatwo jest podzielić ludzkość, stosując logikę sprawiedliwości,

na zbawionych i potępionych. Oczywiście siebie samego widząc

w tej pierwszej grupie. Jezus nie podaje szacunkowej liczby

zbawionych, lecz wskazuje, jak żyć, aby osiągnąć zbawienie.

Starajcie się wejść przez ciasną bramę. Jest to wezwanie do

życia w przyjaźni z Bogiem. Dążąc do zbawienia, trzeba umieć

uwolnić się od niepotrzebnego ciężaru grzechu, który czyni nas

duchowo zbyt grubymi i nie pozwala przejść przez ciasną bramę

prowadzącą do Królestwa Bożego. Pamiętajmy, że zbawieni już

jesteśmy. Musimy umieć przyjąć ten dar. Nie pytaj więc, czy

nieliczni będą zbawieni, lecz czy to, co robisz i jak żyjesz,

prowadzi cię wprost do nieba.

Panie, nie pierwszy raz słyszę Twoje słowa, że pierwsi

będą ostatnim, a ja wciąż widzę siebie jako pierwszego.

Pomóż mi zająć właściwe miejsce tu, na ziemi, abym

wszedł do Twojej chwały.

BLESSED MOTHER TERESA TO BE CANONIZED

On September 4th, Pope Francis will declare Mother Teresa of

Calcutta a Saint. If you would like to learn more about the

wisdom of Mother Teresa, the parish is providing a pamphlet

called Meet Mother Teresa. You will find it at the entrance of

the Church. Please be sure to take one.

PARISH PICNIC

We would like to let you know that our annual Parish

Picnic/Harvest Festival will be held at PNA Park, 171 Plains

Rd., Wallingford, CT., 06492 on Sunday, September 18, 2016

from 1 P.M. till 8 P.M. The event will include delicious Polish-

American food, music by the Dennis Polisky Polka Band from

1-5 PM, and by a DJ from 5:30-8 PM. There will be a Parish

Raffle at the Picnic. The tickets are a bargain $2.00 each or

$40.00 a book of 20 Raffle Tickets. The Picnic gives us the

opportunity to raise funds for the Parish.Have a great time,

enjoying the Polish-American music and Polish and American

food throughout the afternoon. We look forward to seeing you

there! I ask each member of the parish to support this parish

event by buying the raffle tickets or selling them to your

relatives, friends or co-workers. Return whatever tickets you

don’t sell along with your check and the stubs of those that are

purchased. For certain, the Parish Picnic is not only an

opportunity to enjoy ourselves with good food and games, but it

provides an opportunity to get to know each other better as well

"Lourdes in a Day Pilgrimage"

On Saturday, September 10, 2016 the Order of Malta

will hold the third annual "Lourdes in a Day

Pilgrimage" at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, CT

(www.stseminary.org/directions.html).

Known for their charism of defense of the Catholic faith

and service to the sick and the poor, the Order of Malta

conducts this one-day pilgrimage to allow those unable to

make the trip to Lourdes, France to experience the joy,

grace and healing promised by Our Lady of Lourdes.

The day begins at 9:30 am with reconciliation; Mass with

Archbishop Leonard P. Blair at 10 a.m., lunch at noon and

workshops for the sick and their caretakers afterwards. The day

will conclude at 4:30 p.m.
