before you leave home. You will find a Catholic Church and

los católicos tienen la obligación y el privilegio de asistir a

la misa del domingo (o sábado) para adorar y dar gracias a

Dios y para orar por la seguridad! Así que, incluso en

vacaciones, buscamos primero donde vamos a asistir a la

misa dominical. Busque las Iglesias católicas cercanas y el

PREP CLASSES --- Registration forms and schedules

are ready for the 2019-2020 school year. They can be

found in the gathering area. A basket is available for

completed forms. We need a copy of your child’s

baptism certificate. We do not charge for these classes but

appreciate a donation from each family to help with the

cost of running our program. Donations can be put in an

envelope marked PREP and dropped off in the office or

in the collection basket at Mass.

ALL Children and youth of the parish should be

enrolled in religious education.

SHINING STARS will meet on Tuesday,

July 9th at 1:00 pm for their monthly social

meeting. You are invited to join our seniors

and have fun!

ESTRELLAS BRILLANTES – Este grupo se reunirá el

martes 9 de julio a la 1:00 pm para su junta social

mensual. Todos los adultos mayores están invitados a

unirse a este grupo para socializar y divertirse!

CSI – Catholic Service Initiative –

In the past two weeks, 10 youth from our

six parishes tiled a bathroom floor,

installed new doors, repaired a wheel chair

ramp, worked with mobile food pantry and the summer

program at Dehon Village. Through their hard work they

truly became the hands and feet of Jesus. We are looking

forward to next summer's group. It takes many hands to

do God's work...... pray about being a volunteer.

CSI – Iniciativa de Servicio Católico - Las dos semanas

pasadas, diez jóvenes de nuestras seis parroquias trabajaron

instalando piso de baño y puertas nuevas, repararon una

rampa para silla de ruedas, trabajaron en el programa de

despensas móviles así como en el programa de verano de

Dehon Village. A través de su arduo trabajo, se convirtieron

en las manos y los pies de Jesús. Esperamos con interés el

grupo del próximo verano. Se necesitan muchas manos para

hacer el trabajo de Dios... oren por ser voluntarios.

MEN’S PRAYER BREAKFAST – All men

over the age of 18 are invited to the monthly

prayer breakfast in the Parish Hall on

Inter-Parish Appreciation Dinner will be held on Sunday,

July 14 at Queen of Peace in Olive Branch at 4:00 pm,

for all those who have volunteered in any way this past year,

We thank you for all you do; you make our parish a

wonderful community. We ask all those who are able to

attend to sign up in the gathering area, Fr. Thi will cook for

POPE FRANCIS.

76. A person who sees things as they truly are and sympathizes with pain and sorrow is capable of touching life’s depths and finding authentic happiness.[70] He or she is consoled, not by the world but by Jesus. Such persons are unafraid to share in the suffering of others; they do not flee from painful situations. They discover the meaning of life by coming to the aid of those who suffer, understanding their anguish and bringing relief. They sense that the other is flesh of our flesh, and are not afraid to draw near, even to touch their wounds. They feel compassion for others in such a way that all distance vanishes. In this way they can embrace Saint Paul’s exhortation: “Weep with those who weep” (Rom 12:15). Knowing how to mourn with others: that is holiness.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled”

77. Hunger and thirst are intense experiences, since they involve basic needs and our instinct for survival. There are those who desire justice and yearn for righteousness with similar intensity. Jesus says that they will be satisfied, for sooner or later justice will come. We can cooperate to make that possible, even if we may not always see the fruit of our efforts.

UN LLAMADO A LA SANTIDAD DEL PAPA FRANCISCO.

76. La persona que ve las cosas como son realmente, se deja traspasar por el dolor y llora en su corazón, es capaz de tocar las profundidades de la vida y de ser auténticamente feliz[70]. Esa persona es consolada, pero con el consuelo de Jesús y no con el del mundo. Así puede atreverse a compartir el sufrimiento ajeno y deja de huir de las situaciones dolorosas. De ese modo encuentra que la vida tiene sentido socorriendo al otro en su dolor, comprendiendo la angustia ajena, aliviando a los demás. Esa persona siente que el otro es carne de su carne, no teme acercarse hasta tocar su herida, se compadece hasta experimentar que las distancias se borran. Así es posible acoger aquella exhortación de san Pablo: «Llorad con los que lloran» (Rm 12,15). Saber llorar con los demás, esto es santidad.

«Felices los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia, porque ellos quedarán saciados»

77. «Hambre y sed» son experiencias muy intensas,

porque responden a necesidades primarias y tienen

que ver con el instinto de sobrevivir. Hay quienes

con esa intensidad desean la justicia y la buscan con

un anhelo tan fuerte. Jesús dice que serán saciados,

ya que tarde o temprano la justicia llega, y nosotros

podemos colaborar para que sea posible, aunque no

siempre veamos los resultados de este empeño.
