Romeo and Juliet in Film

One of the movies that was later created was Romeo + Juliet. The move was set in Modern day Verona and the two families are two business companies. The movie follows the play fairly accurately and Romeo and Juliet still fall in love.

Text to text

A text that was similar to Romeo and Juliet would be Cyano de Bergerac.

Text to World

In the modern world, people will run off and get married without their parents knowledge and consent. They will go to some populated and famous city, usually Los Vegas.

In Romeo and Juliet, they get married without their parents knowledge and consent but they do not runaway, they just hide the fact. That is until Romeo is banished and Juliet must marry another.

Text to Self

In Romeo and Juliet, the two lovers meet and immediately fall in love. By the end if the book, they are both dead leaving their families to grieve and stop fighting.

I don’t think that teenagers can really know if they are in love for real or not. I also think that killing yourself over the death of the person you just met is a little extreme.
