Program Rules: 1. Students are expected to attend every Program session, meeting and event. Absences are not tolerated and will only be excused for family or medical emergencies. Proof of the emergency has to be supported by official written documentation. Even excessive absences for excused family or medical reasons may result in expulsion from the program.

2. Students are expected to be prepared and do all the homework assigned. Failure to do the homework will result in a deduction from the students’ stipend or grade and also may result in expulsion from the program.

3. Students must turn off cell phones and other electronic devices during class and program events.

4. Study period is not optional; it is mandatory. Students are expected to utilize that time for that purpose under the supervision of the assigned teaching assistants. Students are required to study during the semester in the space provided at LALSD and during the summer program in the space provided by the summer portion of the program.

5. Students are expected to arrive to classes on time and attend classes in their entirety. Arriving late or leaving early or excessive absences, without written documentation of an emergency, will result in a deduction to the students’ stipend or grade. Excessive lateness or absences or early departures will also result in expulsion from the program.

6. Students are expected to arrive to their internships on time and work every scheduled work day during the internship component of the Program. Arriving late, early departures, or excessive absences in the internship component will result in a deduction to the students’ stipend. Excessive lateness, absences, or early departures may also result in expulsion from the program.

7. Students are expected to participate and pay attention during class. Anyone sleeping in the classes will be asked to leave the classroom. Other than a documented medical condition, students who fall asleep in class may have their stipend docked, grade reduced, or be expelled from the Program.

8. Unless otherwise excused by the Professor Roure, Director, students are required to dedicate themselves full-time to the program during the course of the Summer Prep Program. This means that

students cannot take undergraduate courses, engage in extracurricular school activities, or work

full or part-time during the course of the Program. Students in violation of this Rule will be

expelled from the Program.

9. In compliance with New York State Public Health Law 2167, all resident students must complete the medical form related to immunization against meningococcal meningitis.

10. All students who stay in the dorm are required to keep the dorm area in a clean manner at all times. If it is determined by the sole discretion of residing campus director that the dorms are not maintained as expected upon the completion of the Program, each roommate will be assessed a financial penalty. All keys and identification cards issued by summer program Campus Administrator must be returned to the Campus Administrator on check out day, not later.

11. Students taking the LSAT review course must take every diagnostic LSAT exam in class and

when assigned. Diagnostic LSATs must be treated like the real test. Students must arrive early and be fully prepared. Missing a diagnostic test without written emergency documentation will result in either expulsion or a large stipend reduction. Supplemental LSAT sessions at JJC are mandatory, not optional and the same rules apply.

12. Each and every scheduled LSAT class is mandatory. Students taking the LSAT review class must take each class as assigned and not double up on classes in order to take a day off. Attendance at each

LSAT study period is mandatory. Students must be present for the full duration of the study period, and should fully utilize the allotted-for time. Failure to comply with these rules will result in expulsion from the program or deduction in the students’ stipends.

13. Students taking the LSAT review course must sign up and take the LSAT in the Summer or Fall 2019 offering as agreed upon with Professor Roure.
