!. Select the Best Location

A.. This room air conditioner is designed to fit easilyinto a single or doubts hung window However,since window designs vary, it may be necessaryto make some modifications for safe, properinstallation.

C. For maximum efficiency, ]nstall the air conditioneron a side of a house or building which favorsmore shade thansunlight.. If the unit is in directsunlight, it Is advisable to provide an awning overthe un{L

Do Provide sufficient clearance around the cabinet to

E. Be certain the proper electrical outlet is wllhlnreach of the Instetlation.Use only a singteoutlet circuit rated at 15 amps. All wiring shouldbe tn accordance with local and nationalelectrical codes.

E DO NOT USE "REGULAR" EXTENSION CORDSWITH THIS UNIT. If it is necessary to use anextension cord to connect your air conditioner,use an approved "air conditioner" extension cordonly. (available at most tocal hardware stores)

G DO NOT Install unit where leakage of combustiblegas is suspected. Your air condilioner may lati tooperate in air containing oits (including machineoils), sulfide gas, near hot springs, etc...

1. Preparation to Remove the Air ConditionerSlide-Out Chassis

• Positionthe air conditioner on it's back, Fig° 1• Press the indents marked "PUSH" on the bottom

corners of the front grill, this willcause the airfl!lerto (pop,out) release. Fig, la

• Grasp the air fillerand pulestraight out Fig lb• Remove the phillips screw securing the grill front

to the chassis., (from behind where the filter wasremoved) Fig Ic

• To remove the front grill, grasp the lower frontcorner (edge) of 1he grill, pulling (gently) outwardand upward, (Flg 4)

• Repeal the same procedure on the 3 remainingcorners,(sides)

• Before the front grill can be completely removedfrom the cabinet, itwill be necessary todisconnect the (male/tome!e) electrical wireharness focaled directly behind the front grillcontrolpanel (Fig 5a)

• Remove the two retaining screws located al theback of the cabinet securing the slide-outchassis to the cabinet. (Fig 5)

NOTE:These screws do not have to bereinstalled once removed, otherwise you wiltnot be_able to remove the slide-out chassisonce the unit is Installed in the window.

- Remove the phillips screw & retaining brackelsecuring the sltde,out-chasslso (lower frontcabinet) Fig,6aNOTE:This retaining bracket & screw "must"

be reinstalled upon comp=etlon of the windowinstallation. (to secure slide-out-chassis to

cabinet)• Grasp the pull handle at the front of the slide-out-

chassisend carefullyslide the air conditioner outof the cabinet. (Fig.6)Please seek assistance for this procedure.

2. Assembly of the Upper & Lower Channels,to Cabinet,

3, Assembly of the Side Curtains to Cabinet.

• Sflde the shutters into the top and bottomchannels as shown In Fig, 9+The shutlers are!denttl_ed(on frame) as loll & right° Attach theshutters to the cabinet using four 1/4" screws oneach side,

4, Installation of MounUng Brackets and FirstSealing StripSPECIAL NOTE: Windows come In a varlety ofdifferent designs and styles. Therefole, it may be

necessary lo modify or improvise on yourparlicular lnstaltaliemA. Altach the bracket assembly to the 90_ angle

supporl bracke!s (Fig. 16) using four 1 1t2" x1/4" bolts. ([we bolts per bracket)Secure with the four i/4" lock washers and four

1/4" nuts. DO NOT immediate!y tighten thesebolts as It may be necessary to adjust the depthel the bracket assembly, depending on thedepth of your window sill. See Fig's° 1B & 19,Test lhe bracket assembfy In the window beforeinstalling,if satisfied, lighten all belts. Install thetwo levelling screws Into the 90" supportbrackels_ See Fig. 16 if the levelling screws aredistanced too far away from the wall to provideadequate stability, it may be necessary to shim_his araa with a solid piece of wood, See Fig. "[9,

B. Measure the length of the +nsidesill and lind thesenior as shown in Fig. 17.Measure 12+5"on each side of center and mark

these points, Align the V-siot on the bracket witheach corresponding mark and mount thebrackets Io the sill using two 3/4" screws & twoflat washers per bracket.

Brackels should be perpendicular to the insidewindow sill, with step (U) bracket light against the sill.See Fig. 18,

C. For proper condensatlbn run-off it will benecessary to adjust the angle/pitch of the windowbrackets This Is accomplished by adjusting thedistance o! the leveling screw on Ihe outer waft,The maximum angle/pitch should not exceedmore than 3116".,See Fig 1B,

5. Installation of the Cabinet

Ao Place the air conditionercabinet into the window

with the "U' shaped mounting channel (on top)positioned in front of the upper window sash. The"U" shaped channel on the bottom of the cabinetshould be positioned in the "recessed" portion ofthe tracktocated at the front of the window

brackets. Pu_lthe window down until it rests justbehind thefront flange of the (top) "U' shapedmounting channel, See Fig. 14.

D. Cut the first foam sealing strip to fit theunderside (bottom} of the lower window sash.Remove the peel-off backing on the foam andattach the foam strip to the sash. See Fig, 13,

6. Inslalllng the Slide+Out Chassis into Cabinet;

(please seek assistance for this procedure)

• Carefully slide the air conditioner back tnlothe cabinet, {in window)

. Retnsta]l retaining bracket and screw removedearlier., (lower front cabinet) See Fig+6a

• Expand lhe shutter lrames (tully) on each sideand secure the top of the shutter frame to thewindow sash using one 3/4" screw & flat washeron each sldeoFtg_23

o Install a shutter clamp on each side of the(lower) shutter frame and secure to window sillusing one 3f4" screw & fiat washer on each side,,

7. Re]netafllng Front Grill:Before re-installing the Trent grill back on thecabinet, you must re-_nnect the (male!female)electrical wire harness between the front grillcontrol panel and the main (cabinet) untLMake sure the electrical connection is firmly endSecurely attached° Fig 5a

• Pea_tlonthe front panel on the cabinet starting atthe top+TheIront panel lock tabs must beinserted into the retain+rig slots in the cabinet+

• Repeat this procedure on allsides, making surethe Iresh air ventilation lever arm and power cordare properly installed back to theTr ortglna!position on the front grill., +

TIMER:

AUTO -START;

Before activatingthe "auto* start" program, you mustfirst select (sat) the operating eondition_of the airconditioner" _..e.temperature setting and fan speed),Once the settings are complete, the air condJlloner

must be switched off'.(non-operational)Depress lhe TIMER keypad and the auto-start timew]l! appear in the LED display, select Ihe requiredlime (0 o-12hours) and the air condtlioner wll_startautomatically at the estab!ished time.

AUTO -STOP:

Turn the air condlttoneron and select the requiredoperating conditicnso(ice,.temperature setting andfan speed). Depress the TIMER keypad and the timewill appear in the LED display, select the requiredaulo stop lime, (0 .-,12hours) and the air condffionerwilI stop automatically at the established timerNOTE: It is not possible to operate both the"auto-start" and "auto-stop" feature within asingle program, All auto-timed programs areautomatically erased after the set program iscomplete.

E1 = CLEAN AIR FILTER:

A message prompt "El" wiltautomaticaliy appear inthe LED window indicating, when it }s time to cleanthe air lilter. The E1 program is a (built.in) timedevice that operates based on total (air conditioner}running time, It is very _mportant to keep the air filterclean at all times tn order to maximize coolingefficiency (See Cleaning Air Fitter)The air filter"must" becleaned when the "El" message isdisplayed To cancel (eliminate) the El messagefrom the LED display, the air conditioner "must" bedisconnected (unplugged) from the power supplyand re,connectedoThis action automalicaJly re-setsthe "El" program internal time devlce_NOTE; In theevent ef a power failure, the "El" program Isautomatically re-set, therefore we suggest youremove and clean the filter before re-starting theunit.

TEMPERATURE DISPLAY CELSIUS ]FARENHE1GHT:It is possible to change the LED temperature displayto read "Celsius" or 'Farenhe]ght", by pressingthe(temperalure) VV keypads simultaneouslyo Thegreen pilot light under the "C/F" (temperaturesymbof) wilt illuminate, identifying the modeselection.

NOTE: Batteries should be replaced when:

a) No signal (heap) Is heard when initiatingprogram commands from the remote control tothe main unit

b) The main unit does not respond to the remotecontrol program commands..

Battery Replacement:

I) Slide the lower (battery) cover down. (located onrear of unit)

2) Insert two "AAA" inslde the battery chamber. (asdepicted)

3) Re-lr]sta[I lower battery cover.

4) II the remote control Is not being used forextended time periods, (vacation, off season) thebatteries should be removed from the remotecontrol unit.
