Twisted Polyester Ropes

Safety Orange is a 3-strand polyester twisted ropeused for either climbing or a bull rope. This rope isrun through a bath of orange urethane for identifica-tion and abrasion resistance. This improves the life ofthe rope about 1-1/2 times the normal life. This ropeis also available in plain white without the urethanecoating.

High strength.Low stretch.

Power Pull (Bull Rope)

Power Pull (Bull Rope) is a double braid polyesterrope. It is coated with urethane for identification andabrasion resistance, which adds extra life to the rope. This rope is high strength and very low stretch. It isused for lowering limbs. This rope comes in yellow, blue, orange, or green. Each size is a different colorfor easier identification.

Tensile StrengthsThe strengths listed in this literatureare for new and unused rope testedin accordance with Cordage Institutetest methods. Age, exposure to sun-light, chemicals, shock loads and ter-minations are all factors that willreduce tensile strengths. Because ofthe wide range of rope use, andchanging rope conditions, it isimpossible to cover all applicationsor to make overall recommenda-tions as to working loads. Ropestrengths will decrease as soon as arope is put into use.

Specifying Working LoadsThese loads are only specified forrope in good condition with cor-rect splicing, under normalservice conditions.Working loadsare based on a percentage of theapproximate breaking strength ofnew and unused rope. For thearborist, the working load per-centage is 10% of publishedstrengths. This is a normal workingload abd does not cover shockloads or sustained loads.Where life, limb or valuable property areinvolved a lower working loadmust be used.

A higher working load may beselected only with expert knowl-edge, professional estimates of risk, and if the rope has been inspectedand found to be in good condi-tion. Also, the rope must not

have been subject to dynamicloading, excessive use, high tem-peratures, or long periods underload.

Normal Working LoadsSpecifying Normal working loadswhen rope has been subject todynamic loading is not appropriate.Whenever a load is picked up,moved or swung or stopped, thereis increased force due to dynamicloading.

In some cases, the force put on therope maybe two, three, or moretimes the normal load. Thesedynamic effects are greater on alow elongation rope such as poly-ester than on a high elongationrope such as nylon, and greater ona short rope than on a long one. Insuch applications normal workingloads as given do not apply.

InspectionAll climbing lines should be inspect-ed daily for excessive wear. If unsureof the safety of the rope; it should beretired.

Storage Store all rope clean, dry, and out ofsunlight. Keep away from chemicals.

The Buccaneer Rope Affirmations

We wanted to produce the best arborist rope in the industry that wouldmeet the demanding applications of the professional arborist. Wedecided it must work with standard and advanced rigging devices suchas cam savers, ascenders, etc. It also should be able to withstand abuseof the demanding Arborist using proven climbing standards used forgenerations, the backbone of the arborist industry. This rope is one ofthe lightest arbor ropes per 100 feet and easily meets all arborist stan-dards.We have gotten some feedback and help from some of the bestarborist in the United States and around the world. We can offer aworld class rope made for the arborist market.

All of our ropes are manufactured in our facility and are constantlyinspected at every stage of the process from the beginning to the endproduct to insure the quality of the rope. Our policy is to never sell aproduct, which we would not personally use ourselves.

Buccaneer Rope guarantees that all of its ropes are free from manufac-turing defects in workmanship and materials. We want you to get themost out of your rope, so there are a few rules to follow. It is the dutyof the end user to know and use the proper rigging for each applica-tion. When the rope is used as lifeline it should be inspected regularlyfor wear. Only you can decide when to retire the rope.
