Dear Dr. Roden,
Re:Less Than Full-Time (LTFT) Training
Thank you for your letter of 6th November 2007 following our meeting to discuss the possibility of my pursuing LTFT training. My son James is now 10 weeks old and thriving!
I have had a chance to think about work options, and have come to the decision that I would like to apply for LTFT training, if this remains feasible. James will be 6 months old in June, and this is the earliest I would want to consider returning to work. With the changeover of posts happening in September, however, it may be easier to find an opportunity then, and certainly I would be happy to delay things until then. I would definitely wish to be back at work by December at the latest, as my maternity leave would have reached one year by then, and I am extremely keen to retain my training number.
I appreciate that much of this will depend on finding the right slots and possibly a job share, so I would be happy to try and work around whatever solutions may be proposed. I would hope to come back at around 60% of full time if possible.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
Laura Wakely
