Our country stepped into cosmic space half a century ago making an epoch of

extraterrestrial space conquest. In the year of the fifty-years' flight of Gagarin and the firstspaceship "Vostok" Russia became the center of manned astronautics. The United Nationsannounced the 12th of April to be the international day of manned space-flight. The whole worldnow celebrates the day of astronautics by the Russian calendar.

The ISS is the outpost of humanity on a low earth orbit, the biggest space object has everbeen created. Only Russia is able to launch manned spaceships to the ISS nowadays. RussianFederal Space Agency's mission in the years ahead is to support and develop an orbital stationand to move on into the big space.

Space missions of the 21st century will begin in the Far East, in the Amur region. The whole

city and the most modern spaceport Vostochny with its four launch pads, the astronaut trainingcentre, hotels, railway station and the airport will start up soon in the midst of taiga.

V. Putin: The spaceport Vostochny is designed to support the high space status and thedominant positions of Russia in this sphere.

Today Russia is choosing its own way to stars again. There are plans in the new federalspace program for the deep space exploration for the decades ahead. After a long break theRussian science is on the orbit again . The most advanced telescope Radioastron has become thefirst in a succession of the automatic space vehicle launches for the galaxy studies.

We are planning to start the X-ray spectrum in 2013 and the ultra-violet spectrum in 2015

for the study of the same issues. We are working out the shape of the space vehicle which is to belaunched in 2017. The wave-length of this vehicle is 1 millimetric, V.Popovkin said. The scientificvehicles such as Spektr RG, Spektr F, Millimetron, Phobos-Grunt, Luna-Glob will continue thespace research following the Radioastron.

Over the last years almost one half of the world's space shots are being performed inRussia. The launcher Soyuz, the most reliable medium capacity launcher, receives the new port ofregistry: The Guiana Space Centre which is the new starting point on the map of Soyuz.

The Russian space has something to deal with almost everybody's life. Satellites Resurs - DK

and Resurs - Elektro - L help monitor forest fires and prevent natural disasters. The GLONASSsatellites work the way to the Earthmen. The formation of the orbit group and the internationalcertification of GLONASS will be completed this year. Russia is ready to provide the whole worldwith the signal of navigation system .

Rocket and space industry is the very innovative engine which can stimulate the developmentof other branches of the economy. Space exploration is moving forward fundamental and appliedscience.
