• Every year, approximately 20 MBA and BBA students attend the NYC trek
• Learn more about the entertainment, media and technology industries
• Network and build relationships in hopes of landing internships and full-time jobs

Transportation and Logistics• Trip Expenses: Participants are responsible for all trip expenses
including meals, travel to and within New York and lodging. Please bring cash and/or credit cards to cover these expenses.
• Reimbursement: All participants will be eligible for partial reimbursement. In the past, this reimbursement has been as much as $100. Please save your receipts up to this amount.
• Flights from Detroit: Currently around ~$280 RT (USAir/AirTran)– Arrival flights on or before Tuesday– Departure flight no earlier than 7:00 PM on Friday evening
• Note: If booking through Spirit, watch out for their hidden fees (i.e. $20 booking fee for carry-on + w/$60 membership fee)!
Lodging
• Again, on your own• If you can stay with a friend, great!• If not, try to room with a friend on the trip to

Trip Preparation

Trip Preparation: Research
• We strongly suggest that you research each individual company– Places to search: company website, public filings (10-K,
10-Q), news articles, Kresge database resources (i.e. Factiva, ThomsonONE)
– We will provide a tearsheet for each company, however it is up to you to do more detailed research!!
• Develop at least 2 questions for each company for panel discussion by Friday the 18th – These will help facilitate the hour-long panels– Ideas or questions? Email Darryl or Tyrell
Trip Preparation: Panel Questions• When you ask questions, please be sure they are thoughtful and
appropriate– Questions NOT to ask:• Compensation• Questions that can be answered using basic research, such
as the company’s website• Questions about rumors or things that have not been
commented on by the company• Any sort of takeover or M&A activity• Any sort of negative press• Financial information that may have been leaked
• Again, if you are unsure either check with us or ask!!!
Registration• Join the Entertainment and Media Club or Entrepreneur and Venture Club on
CampusGroups. You must be a member of at least one of these clubs to join the trek.
• Sign up on our Google doc (http://bit.ly/1aZQxgs).• Go to PayPal and send a $200 REFUNDABLE deposit to
Ross_E&[email protected]. Refund is contingent upon attending ALL company events. NOTE: Payments made from your bank account are free, but please add an additional $6.10 to your deposit amount if you use a credit card (Total amount due is $206.10).
• To help cover gifts for company partners, $10 will be retained from your $200 deposit.
• You will receive a confirmation from us whether you're on the trek as soon as possible.
