What is the meaning behind the name, "Marion Write"? Well, Marion is my legal first name and Write comes from what I do! Very simple concept, nothing major to go over people's heads.
What influenced your decision to become a musician / writer / producer? My influences came from simply being around music as a child. Growing up, my childhood friend's father was Leon Sylvers', he always had people in his home studio working on music. Being curious, his son and I asked if he would help us out and kind of show us the ropes, later he became our manager and from there it sort of just stuck on me. I moved to Las Vegas and decided to run my own operation so I grew into writing and producing. I also have some years under my belt as a violinist.
What inspires you? / Who are your influences? A lot of things inspire me, for one, listening to music. Plain and simple. I get a lot
out of listening to different kinds of music, I listen to it in a different way, from how instruments are being used, how the mix is, lyrical content, different breaks, changes and bridges. Anything creative to me usually inspires me to create. Some of my main influences in music are definitely cats like Michael Jackson. MJ and the way he controls and molds his music all the way down to the instrumentation during tours and even choreography, he taps into every aspect of his image and presentation. I'm also influenced by rappers like Nas, Lupe Fiasco and Mos Def. As different as these guys are compared to each other, one thing they have in common is the ability to take you on a journey creatively. Like Nas' "I Gave You Power", Lupe's "Twilight Zone", and Mos Def's "Mathematics". Some of my favorite records from the three of them.
What do most people NOT know about you? Other talents / aspirations? Not a lot of people may know this about me but I'm a huge fan of the sport of soccer (futbol), I also
played 4 years Varsity sports in Basketball and Track. I also manage and control the operations within' my music group. I hold two artists under my camp and we have a team of about 5 people that help us formulate the music and visuals you hear and see. I'm slowly changing the music group into a label group. One of my main aspirations in life is to change the way people perceive music and hopefully have more people appreciate the work and soul that goes into the process.
Top 5 albums OR songs that changed your life? Wow... haha, let's see. In no particular order, Nas' "The World is Yours". Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album. Jay-Z's "the Blueprint". Any Boyz II Men song. The Sylvers' "Boogie Fever". The reason why I chose these; well at one point in time in my life, these songs/albums would help me push through during any negative times and also inspire me to continue to do what I do.
What's next for Marion Write? I'm currently working on a new album called "Illustrated Example". Right now, J. Spence and I are going thru different sounds and experimenting with different producers' music.
We definitely want it to sound cohesive, I'll give you guys a little I.E., no pun intended; we're trying to make it seem like one big song, or orchestrated score. I plan on releasing that digitally thru iTunes and other digital outlets as well as physically thru some exclusive stores by first quarter 2011. Also, DJ Finyl and I are working on our second album. Other than that, I'm continuing to build the foundation for our team, and constantly searching for different avenues to help our music grow.
Any last words of advice / mantra to live by? Yes, live by your word; understand your objective and execute; build relationships and repair broken ones. You never know who's going to help you or lead you to a direction that advances you to the next level in your career. Take risks and lead yourself to the larger outcome of success. Remember, your doing this for you and yours!! Make it happen. Maintain!
Many shout outs to Jennifer Jane, RO_T8 Mag, Knewvo and everybody who appreciates and continues to support our music. Much Love!

what's the meaning behind the name, "duwoprose the vinylist"? DUWOP defines: Divine Universesoul Warrior Of Pain. Rose, the after tense of rise. Cause that's where I feel we are all headed. To the top. After pain, we rise, learn and overcome. The Vinylist to let you know what I specialize in. I love Vinyl. I prefer Vinyl.
what influenced your decision to become a dj? It has always been a part of me since I was a baby. My mother would compile mixtapes for my father who lived in the states while we were overseas. Then from the Philippines to Cerritos, California I was around my cousin Sheila a lot and she played mixtapes from various all star DJs. I was intrigued of how music could blend in one. At age 9 I knew I wanted to be one of them.
what inspires you? / who are your influences? Love & Pain inspires me. My influences are Kool DJ Herc, Grand Wizzard Theodore, Lord Q, Paria B, my family and rare friends.
what do most people not know about you? other talents / aspirations? That I do everything on my own. I'm a happy independent artist. I own my own record label. That if anyone needed help with their music, they can reach out. And if you don't know, now you know.
top 5 albums or songs that changed your life? 1. Paria B "Break Free" 2. K-Os "Exit" 3. Bahamadia "Kollage" 4. Dead Prez "Let's Get Free" 5. KRS-One "I Got Next"
what's next for duwop? The next level. Working on Paria B's 2nd album and mixtapes. Be on a look out!
any last words of advice / mantra to live by? Follow your heart not the crowd.

who is nick leonard? Nick is a 17-year-old native Las Vegan, online school senior. Independent. Ambitious. Blond. Capricorn. He lives & breathes to shoot.
what does photography mean to you? As a very visual person, I find it important to document the moment through a photograph whether the subject be a person or an abandoned building.
when and how did you first become interested in photography? Towards the end of middle school, I became interested in photography and began constantly shooting self-portraits as a fun hobby to zone out of the hellacious atmosphere that middle school was. Today I focus on concerts, red carpets, street photography and the whole downtown scene, of course.
what inspires you? who are your influences? My biggest influence would have to be Andy Warhol for his timeless superstar Polaroid portraits and his overall aura and talent. Also, my rock 'n' roll photographer buddy, Robert Knight is an awesome influence as well. I grab a lot of inspiration for my shots in run down parts of town. It's the raw and true feeling that lies there that attracts me.
how do you decide on locations and subjects? As I mentioned, downtown Las Vegas holds my heart. I enjoy searching for vintage motels and beautfiul, aged architecture. I have a strong feeling inside of me that rings the need to capture these gems because in a town such as Las Vegas, they can be hit by the damn bulldozer tomorrow. What I look for in a person is a distinctive style that screams "Look at me!" Whether it's a celebrity, musician or just a girl on the street with a unique outfit, makeup, and neat hair--I love it.
digital or film? I always use my Nikon D40 for digital photos. Film wise, I shoot Polaroid 600 & Spectra instant film. I also use Fuji's instant camera known as the Fuji Instax Mini.
any last words of advice / mantra to live by? Follow your dreams and no one else while strutting down your own path. Be your own muse.

What is the meaning behind the album title, "Dreams & the Supernatural"? Dreams are what we all have; our inspirations, goals, ideals and such that we strive to accomplish on the daily. When in a really good sleep, what bleeds from our subconscious in the form of sounds, images, situations, cinema's (laughs) you get what I'm saying. The supernatural is what I coside with and at the same time what I'm up against. I always hear God helps those who help themselves, so what has helped and hindered me is the supernatural forces in my life, the good, the demons, the spirits, whatever. My project is simply showing my duality. The Jekyll, The Hyde, the day to day struggle to the conclusion: drop this damn record.
What influenced your decision to become a musician / writer? Nothing else in my life seemed to make sense. I had pretty much been the ugly ducking, the outcast, the odd man out and third wheel since birth and through childhood to adulthood, so--music was my way to escape this reality. It's been my only and yet neglected 'sometimes love'. My decision was based on God and circumstances.
What inspires you? / Who are your influences? My life that I can articulate into words inspires me but often times I can't find the words but just phrases, ideas, quotes and poetry from other people. Otherwise I say nothing. Other artist that inspire me range anywhere from the pop sounds of Michael Jackson to the rugged sounds of Wu-Tang, the soul of Marvin Gaye to the poetry of Common. Nas, Kanye, Jay Z, Big L, Eminem and a plethora of others make up my skill repertoire because I push myself to meet or exceed the skill, wordplay and quality on the mic so as how I can switch styles and vary in depth to the content of my records.
What do most people NOT know about you? Other talents / aspirations? I'm so random in all my media outlets people have yet to still figure me out. (laughs) Talents, I love to sing, aspirations to travel the world just bringing good vibes to people through the artistry of music or just some act of generosity. A lot of my spirituality comes from the roots of my mixed ancestry with Native American roots, and family passionate about God. I do a lot of studying of various religions and culture as well. Another thing about me is I'm a linguistic freak and love to know more languages than English so I'm studying four currently.

Top 5 albums OR songs that changed your life? Michael Jackson number one, that's my struggle there, is to come out with a record or a song that can reach you emotionally and spiritually as he did. Whether it's something I'd write and perform myself or for someone else. (laughs) All the afore mentioned artist and their records fall in line afterwards.
What's next for Theorian Williams? No clue. My life is as sporadic as the records come and as my person can be. One minute I can be on something serious and the next second clowning. All in all though the essence, the person I am stays true so I'd like to think that's what will become of my life and all of this that I'm doing, we'll see. That's the supernatural part of it all.
Any last words of advice / mantra to live by? If for whatever reason a record of mine never sees the light of day and I don't grace the cover of Complex, Vibe, or better yet Forbes, know this. Based off the opportunities I've had I've always challenged myself and gave no damn to what the next man said really. I just weighed it all to my circumstances and concluded which was better. Know this, you have a life to do what you will but the rare and lasting impact is that of something real and positive. What everyone else is on may look shiny, but if ain't you--it's destiny to whither away and you'll look stupid in the end. Live with no regrets, do what you love and what loves you back.
