SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES FOR JULY:

July 19 RCCDO New Year’s Party for Children

Mindanilla Day Care

July 26 Membership Development Seminar Grand Caprice, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Hello Fellow Rotarians good day. Last week proved to be an exciting time for RCCDO, we along with the Anns implemented two projects. The first one was the NEW RO-TARY YEAR CHILDRENS PARTY / BALIK ESKUELA which we did with our daycare project in Gusa. This is a project we look for-ward to doing every year as we can see the constant progress in the development of the children every year. This year we had 34 chil-dren in the party hopefully that will increase every year, we assured the school and the community that RCCDO will always support this worthwhile endeavour. The venue was the Philippine Sinter Clubhouse arranged through the help of Nanay Evangelista and the Anns. It proved to be an excellent venue and all the children had fun with a special guest Ham burglar one of the mascots of McDonalds who was there to help the kids celebrate. The faces of the children visibly lit up when we gave them the school supplies and bags and other goodies we had pre-pared for them. Rotarians present were DG Manny Along, PAG Chito Sarraga, PAG John Mark Sarraga, Dir. Neil Que, Dir. Dante Su-daria, PE Alvin Benasa, Rtn. Jun Hipona, PD James Pamparo, and Your President. Thank you Guys. The Anns were led by their Pres-ident Juvy Sarraga. The Anns outnumbered the Rotarians attending this project there be-ing 14 Anns to our 9 Rotarians. kudos to the leadership of our Ann prexy.

The other project implemented last week end was the GIVE LOVE, SHARE BLOOD, SAVE LIVES bloodletting project we did in cooperation with the Cagayan de Oro Police Office and the Philippine Red Cross. This project was led in our part by its chairman PD Henry Cay-as, the venue was Henry's "Kingdom" Station/Outpost 1 in DV-Soria below the amphitheater. Donors abounded with the help of the cadets of the local train-ing center and also the others who chose to give blood that day. RCCDO Rotarians pres-ent that day were led by yours truly and DG MannyAlong, VP Popo Juarez, PS Ben Elio, Rtn. Tonyboy Fernandez, PD Danny Camat, Dir. Mike Mendoza, PD Henry Cay-as, PAG Carlo Romero, James Pamparo, Sec. Sonny Tiro. Anns Present were: Pres. Juvy, Lady Biema, PP Maleen Camat, Lady Linda Cara-gos, Ann Ophie Paano, Ann Ester Cay-as, Ann Gigi Tiro, Ann Luz Pamparo, Treas. Jes-sica Elio, PP Nanay Evangelista.

Rotarians outnumbered the Anns on this project with 11 Rotarians to 10 Anns. Kudos RCCDO.

The next few weeks will be busy ones for RCCDO in preparations for our Signature Project the Interplast Australia Medical Mis-sion which will go into high gear with the imminent arrival of the medical team, and although there are still quite a few hurdles to get over I am confident our team led by PAG Chito will find the solution to get over this.

We are also trying to organize a Fireside Chat for new Rotarians this will be headed by Rtn. Jong Dumlao which is now busy organizing his team for this activity which we will hold jointly with the Anns which is because we want new Rotarians to involve theirs Anns in enjoying Rotary. This activity is tentatively scheduled for August 9 hope-fully will culminate with our first fellowship for this Rotary Year. Our fellowship Chairman is very eager to start with this. Thank you New Rotarian Tonyboy Fernandez. Thank You , and Rock On RCCDO !!!

From The Secretary’s DeskWe cannot let up in our efforts. We cannot undo all the good work that has been done in the past.

Our second goal is to continue to support Rotary's own charity, The Rotary Foundation, through our con-tributions. The good that we do is lim-ited only by what we receive. Let us ensure that clubs who have made no contributions to our Foundation do so this year.

Our third goal is to ensure the prog-ress of our new grants program by participating in sustainable educa-tional and humanitarian projects.

Our fourth goal is to foster goodwill and peace by promoting and pub-licizing the Rotary Peace Centers program, whose purpose is to create a cadre of individuals dedicated to peace and conflict resolution.

Our fifth goal is to emphasise that the responsibility for the future of our Foundation is in all our hands so that we can continue doing good in the world as we endeavor to Light Up Rotary.

I look forward to your support.

John KennyFoundation Trustee Chair

Goals for a new year.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve this Rotary year as chair of our Rotary Foundation. And we should be proud to call it our Foundation, for each day millions of people are touched by the magic of Rotary – made possible only by the service and dedication of Ro-tarians throughout the world.

Our Foundation is the engine that drives the Rotary machine. It gives us the chance to see and fulfill the op-portunities for service both within our community and internationally.

Your Foundation Trustees have set five goals for the year.

The first goal is the eradication of the poliovirus from the face of the earth. We have much to be proud of in our efforts to rid the world of this dreaded disease, but we must finish the job.

The Weekly Meeting last July 10, 2014 was focused on organizing the different committees of the club. In this connec-tion, President Luigi Sarraga declared the meeting as a Club Sub-Assembly. The respective Rotary Service Avenue Chairmen took turns at the podium dis-cussing the challenges and opportuni-ties that their team will be focusing on. They also requested for volunteers for their sub-committees.

Another highlight of the meeting was the visit by members of the Rotary Club - CDO East Urban to drum up support for the upcoming Membership Develop-ment Seminar on July 26, 2014. At least 16 RCCDO members pre-registered and for the event. DG Manny Along and President Luigi Sarraga encouraged more members to pre-register and sup-port the RC CDO East Urban and our District 3870.

PAG Chito Sarraga also gave a briefing on the Interplast Project which is a flag-ship project for RY 2014-15. He stated that he will be giving weekly updates of

the project to the club as we approach the activity date of August 11, 2014.Rotarian Ariel A. Ceniza gave an inter-esting Classification Talk (Wine Distribu-tion). He related his business objectives to the Rotary Four-Way Test. He ended his Classification Talk with a wine tasting activity highlighting South African Red Wines and Chilean White Wines.
