The Grace-
For Friendship and fellowship, we thank thee Lord : For what we are about to receive, may God make us truly thankful and ever mindful of the needs of others. Amen .
The Four Way test-
Of the things we think, say or do
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to All Concerned?
3. Will it Build GOODWILL and Better Friendships?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to All Concerned?
The Object of Rotary
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
1. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
2. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
3. The application of the ideal of ser-vice in each Rotarian's personal, busi-ness, and community life;
4. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Fellow Rotarians,
The Rotary year 2013-14 has kicked off with a lot of excitement with the theme ‘Engage Rotary Change Lives’. By choosing this year’s Rotary theme RI President Ron D. Burton had a dream of making a difference in the lives of the communities that we serve to make the world a better place. The theme there-
fore commits us as Rotarians to do more as required of us by our Motto ‘Service above Self’
Every one of us is in Rotary because we made a choice to serve mankind. Being a Rotarian is a commitment that goes far beyond
just showing up at club meetings once a week. It means committing our time & resources to serve the less privileged and make a difference in their lives.
It is in this Spirit that the Rotary Club of Kampala-Naalya at its first Board meeting held on 15th July 2013, declared the Rotary year 2013-14 a year of service projects. In order to fulfill this dream, the Club has come up with the following strategic actions:
Conduct a needs assessment in the surrounding communities and prepare project proposals that will contribute to change in the lives of the communities we serve;
Ensure that the Service Projects Committee in collaboration with each buddy group initiates at least three service projects during the Rotary year;
Enhance monthly membership contributions to support financing of projects;
Partner with other clubs, the Private Sector and individuals for technical and financial support; and
Equip club members with knowledge and skills on Foundation programmes and grants through trainings and talks on TRF.
Fellow Rotarians, this is a commitment of the Board and I wish therefore, to call upon all club members to rise to the occasion and ensure that the dream of the club of RI President Burton is realized. Let us Engage Rotary and Change Lives’.

Mandela Day and 67 Minutes of Service July 18th is a very important day because in November 2009, the UN General Assembly declared that day "Nelson Mandela Interna-tional Day" in recognition of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom. This year’s celebration of his birthday will take on a special significance as he battles an illness that he developed in prison fighting against apartheid.
The Mandela Day campaign message is simple: Mr. Mandela gave 67 years of his life fighting for the rights of humanity and they are asking that everyone gives 67 minutes of their time, whether it’s supporting your chosen charity or serving your local community. Mandela Day is a call to action for individuals – for people everywhere – to take responsibility for changing the world into a better place, one small step at a time, just as Mr. Mandela did. The day is a call to action for all people to recognize their ability to have a positive effect on others around them. Nelson Mandela is a recipient of the Rotary Award for World Understanding for a life that exemplifies the Rotary ideal of Service and for promoting international understanding, peace and goodwill.

EKITOOBERO: Did you know ???
Why are some people Mosquito Magnets
Did you know that some people are more alluring to mosquitoes than
others? Scientists have discovered some surprising reasons why some of
us are particularly tasty targets for the tiny vampires.
Original article by Lisa Collier Coo
Mosquitos prefer blood type O— Mosquitoes are nearly twice as likely to
land on people with type 0 blood than those with type A.
Beer drinkers beware— Swigging just one bottle of beer can significantly
boost your risk of being bitten.
Watch out for the full moon—The tiny bloodsuckers are 500 times more
active when the moon is full. The highest risk times for mosquito bites are
dusk and dawn.
Keep your socks on—The pungent aroma of dirty feet is apparently
irresistible to mosquitoes. Stinky cheeses also draw mosquitoes.
Mosquitos know if you’re expecting—Moms-to-be get bitten about twice
as often as women who aren’t pregnant, due to the moisture and carbon
dioxide in their breath. Women are more attractive to mosquitoes during
certain phases of the ovulation cycle.
Running won’t help you—You’re more likely to be bitten if you’re running or
exercising than when you’re at rest, since you’re breathing harder and
sweating more. Like vampires, they prefer dark clothes—Dark-colored clothing can
increase your risk of falling victim to the little bloodsuckers, compared to
lighter-colored clothing. Black (most attractive); red (very attractive);
grey and blue (neutral); khaki, green, light and yellow (less attractive).

If swimming is a good exercise to stay ... FIT, why are whales FAT?? Why is the place in a stadium where people SIT, called a STAND? Why is that everyone wants to go to HEAVEN but nobody wants to DIE?
In our country, we have FREEDOM of SPEECH, then why do we have TELEPHONE BILLS?
If money doesn’t grow on TREES then why do banks have BRANCHES?
Why do you still call it a BUILDING when its already BUILT?
If it is true that we are here to HELP others, what are others HERE for? If All The Nations in the World are in Debt, Where Did All The Money Go? If The “Black Box” Flight Recorder Is Never Damaged During A Plane Crash, Why Isn’t The Whole Airplane made Out Of That Stuff..?
Why Do People Say “You’ve Been Working Like A Dog” When Dogs Just Sit Around All Day..??
This guy keeps falling asleep in church and his Wife’s getting sick of it. She decides she'll bring a pin to church with her and poke him when He starts falling asleep. They're in church that next Sunday and he starts falling asleep right as the preachers saying, " And the lord god created the heavens and the earth."
His wife pokes him and he jumps up yelling "HALLELUIA!!" The preacher, looking startled, says "very good, very good." A little while later he starts falling asleep again as the preachers saying, "And the lord parted the Red Sea for Moses".
His wife pokes him and he jumps up yelling, "PRAISE THE LORD!!" The preacher exclaims, "very good, very good!" A little while later he falls asleep again just as the preacher says, "and what did Eve say to Adam after they had their second child?" His wife pokes him again and he jumps up yelling,
"STICK THAT THING IN ME AGAIN AND I'M GONNA BREAK IT OFF!"
