THE COG - RCM Meeting 1635 Bulletin 05 July 2017
From the President:
Writing this in front of the fire on a cold Saturday night watching the Crows nail biting win and Port Power’s valiant
effort. Bliss.
What a wonderful night we all experienced on Friday – Great venue and Great crowd. Everyone dressed up in the
spirit of the night and photos are stunning. Thank you again to Katarina and the Fellowship Committee for all their
hard work in organising yet another successful and entertaining Changeover dinner. Very grateful to our special
guests who attended including D.G. Sam Campoeale, Group 7 A.G. David Jones, Campbelltown Mayor Simon Brewer,
local members John Gardner and Vince Tarzia and not to forget our Landlord Fred Hamood . They all expressed their
continued support for our Club and offered assistance with future activities which is very much appreciated.
Congratulations to Terry Carson and Desma Fitch for their very well-deserved Paul Harris Medals and to Sabrina
Koetsier for her Presidents Shield Award.
I am told that past President Brenton is enjoying his first hours of freedom and putting his feather duster (thanks to
Marian Jennings) to good use.
I again wish to thank all members for putting their faith in me as President for the next and very exciting 12 months
and I can only say that I will do my best with your support. I am this week meeting with as many Board members and
Directors as possible to discuss their roles and responsibilities and to ask them to draft at least three goals with their
Committees for the coming rotary year. The new Committee structure and the draft budget for 2017 – 2018 will be
presented at our meeting on Wednesday together with a sign off from past President Brenton on the 2yr Strategic
plan for RCM 2015- 2017. This will lay the foundation to commence our strategic planning for 2017 – 2019 so it’s a
meeting not to miss.
An important date for your diary this July is Wednesday 19th when D.G. Bob Cooper will visit the Club. We are keen
to have a good turnout of members and partners to give a rousing Morialta welcome to our new DG. More details at
our next meeting.
I know it’s really cold but there is always a warm welcome waiting at our Wednesday meeting – see you there!

KIOSK From ANZAC Day , The new person in charge of the kiosk bag float will be Chris Pritchard who lives at 3 Fox Avenue ,Athelstone. As you have previously been advised, Richard Hurn, after many years of being the “go to” person for the handling of the Kiosk float, has decided to have a rest from that task. Chris Pritchard has agreed to take on that responsibility with Adel Abdelhamid being the back up person when Chris is unavailable. The contact details for both Chris and Adel are as follows “

ANNUAL SERVICE CLUBS DINNER Good afternoon Service Club representatives Further to the Service Clubs Advisory Committee meeting at which the Mayor suggested that perhaps this year, Clubs might like to support the Rotary Club of Campbelltown’s Mayoral Benefit Ball instead of holding an Annual Service Clubs dinner and if that was the case the Council would put $20 towards each Member’s ticket if they wish to attend. Could you please advise Council (either myself or Paul Di Iulio) by 30 June of your Clubs preferred option of either the holding of the usual Annual Service Clubs Dinner on Tuesday 29 August or attending the Ball on the 26 August and Council subsidising the ticket. Thank you Jan
