The already sucessfully established CANopen Safety und PROFIsafe rotary encoders will now be supple-mented by a new safety encoder. As one of the first manufacturers of encoders TWK now offers a SIL2 certified multiturn encoder with Fail Safe over Ether-CAT interface (FSoE).

The type TRK/S3 is based on the well-proven enco-ders of the T-series. Due to a redundant sensor system and additional internal monitoring mechansims the TRK/S3 achieves SIL2 respectivly Performance Level d. In addition to a safe position value, the rotary encoder also supply a safe speed signal.
