Wine Tasting... From the Comfort of Home! Start the weekend off early by learning about wine, and how to day drink starting at the end of the day. This will be in lieu of our regular weekly meeting so be warned ahead of time. Fill that 12:15 to 1pm slot with good deeds. Stay tuned for how/where to pick up your wine.

Mr. Scott, my head is exhausted, it needs to sit down. Where’s the rest of my body?

Prez Dave, I’m doing the best I can, the dilithium crystals only seem to be beaming up the sexist part of your person. In the meantime just keep bid-ding on all that great stuff, I’ll get Mr. Spock to switch the circuits polarity.

You’ll go out of this world with the great swag. and gifts. Final night and cocktail party June 13th.

Underhand throw back tuesday back to a kinder simpler time when the Soft-ball team kicked the snot out of Salem, prov-ing that YES we can beat the witches on any given day. Sergeant: Derek Maxfield Happy Dollars Sue Gabriel- has 1st hair appointment aside from Al Temkin, who must have snuck a few in during the stay at home orderMike Jones- already got his hair cut this morningBill Beckman- happy for Sue’s hot new rideScott- added a “panic” $10 for hoping to make payrollDylan- daughter graduated from high

schoolDave Olson- found and returned home a 2 ½ year old outside running barefoot alone this morning. Dave’s wife swooped in and they figured out where he lived.

(Derek’s wit is always delivered quickly, so excuse any omissions)Derek noted the extensive business reopen-ing guidelines, but says FT is all set because he loaded up on bleach and syringes. The CDC released an update that Co-vid-19 doesn’t spread as easily on surfaces as suspected. And in other news, eggs are now bad for you.Derek fined everyone with a West Beach sticker. There’s a theory that UV light kills the virus. Surprised tanning salons aren’t part of the reopening priorities.Derek is pretty stressed and scared these days, but not as scared as the people who wear their masks while driving alone in their cars.Apparently the Lieutenant Governor had a lot of cars at the house recently- seems rules don’t apply to leadership, so Mayor Cahill and Julie Flowers will be having par-ties this weekend.Funding for hazard pay for essential work-ers looks like it will be approved, good news. Derek is a little disappointed though that he never received hazard pay for working with Mike Harrington. Finally, Derek has a theory about how Covid really spreads: he thinks it’s actually a STD. Tracing it should be quite fun.

Guest Speakers: Classification speeches from Eric Immerman and Ken Krall

Eric Immerman-It has been almost a year since joining Rotary, and it all started with a ripped pair of pants.Eric grew up on the South Shore (!), but is glad he moved to the North Shore where it’s more classy. He went to BC High- the REAL eagles, not the Philly-looking eagle at Saint John’s Prep.Eric’s path to Rotary started at a young age. His parents are very active in phi-lanthropy and instilled that in him. They are and have been involved in numerous

Real Estate Appraisal, Appraisal Review & Consultingorganizations over the years.Eric lived in NY for a long time, where he created the Junior Board for New York Cares and was the youngest person at the time to serve on the Board. He’s now part of ECCF’s New Philanthropists, which recruits younger folks into local philanthropy and helps ensure that the younger generation gets and remains engaged. He’s building a Junior Board at Northeast Arc, and looking forward to picking that back up when things return to some sort of normal. Eric also values creativity and the creative economy. He’s part of Creative Collective. His service project for Rotary is installing reflective tinting on the windows for Family Prom-ise- the tint will help with the hot bright sun, and also provide privacy.Eric can help us all meet Spanish women online- he met his wife through a Craig-slist ad looking for a roommate when he lived in NY. They got married on 9/23/17 in Madrid. Eric’s career is in Employee Services, and works for Blue Horizons Benefits which offers thoughtful benefits, HR support, and simplifies technology. Eric aims to help folks understand the often complex world of health insurance and save them money.

Ken Krall-Lives in downtown Beverly with wife, Marisa and children Alex (30) and Dani-elle (24). He’s lived in Beverly since 1991, grew up in Wellesley and has lived in Watertown, Stoneham and Peabody. He attended St. Lawrence University in NY and met his wife on a subway in Madrid his junior year abroad. He enjoys tennis (doubles), golf, and is learning to play the guitar. He’s a big sports fan- Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins, and NY Giants...his dad is from NY. Ken’s first job was hard to beat; he was a Club House Boy for the Red Sox from 1975-76, and the Red Sox went to the World Series in ‘75. Early in his ca-reer he worked for Bank of Boston and traveled. The banking industry changed quite a bit in the late 80’s and he de-cided to leave banking and join Marisa in her business. She had opened a small school in 1986 that taught English, which had a location on Cabot Street in Beverly. In 1996 they opened the Boston

Academy of English in Boston which offered intensive ESL classes for both students studying in the US from abroad and local students. In 2014 they were approached by someone wanting to purchase the business and they received an offer they couldn’t refuse. Since, he and his family have been traveling. His son Alex is engaged and his wedding is scheduled for September. Ken volunteers for North Shore Habitat for Humanity and the YMCA. He’s happy to be a mem-ber of the Beverly Rotary, and thanked Ed and Liz for being so welcoming during his recruitment. He appreciates that Rotary is responsive to the needs of the community, and it’s members are continu-ally evolving to ensure the club does not become stagnant.
