PDG John Kevan gave a very interesting and knowledgeable response during which he related a story where he was mistaken for Ian Riseley the Rotary International President.

Past President’s Award John Sharp, Carole Maxwell and Mick Donnes had great pleasure in presenting this award to Giovanna McKay for her outstanding work. She has made a wonderful new website for the club and has added the Rotary Charity Golf Day and the Microbat Project to it which is a great way to get people using the web site. Colin gave a brief summary of the enormous contribution they have all made to our club and Rotary over a number of years. They all continue to put service above self and have helped make our club what it is today.

Induction of Incoming President

Congratulations Ian Pittaway

Colin was delighted to congratulate Ian on becoming the new President of the Rotary Club of Attadale and helped him with the Chains of Office.

Ian thanked Colin for the great work he did during the year. He went on to say he is looking forward to a very enjoyable year with everyone’s support.

He and Jacquie will continue to do Programmes and already have some very interesting guest speakers lined up. They will also look after Family of Rotary. We are very lucky that they have taken on these roles as they do them extremely well. We all wish Ian and Jacquie all the best for the coming year.

SSSO CONCERT THIS COMING SUNDAY We may be working with the South Side Symphony Orchestra to put on a musical production next year. There is a great opportunity for all members to hear the band this coming Sunday. Come along and enjoy the music (and afternoon tea) and get a feel for the orchestra and their style of music. See you there. Find out more at the SSSO Website.

Join SSSO for a Winter warming concert at the Historic Notre Dame Drill Hall under the baton of Laurissa

Wyllie-McCarthy, SSSO’s newly appointed Music Director.

The program is inspired by the history of the Drill Hall where troops, destined for Gallipoli, assembled

before marching to Fremantle Harbour to board the awaiting troop ships in November 1914.

The program features Isabelle Chen – violin soloist performing Massenet’s Meditation from Thais.

There’s also Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Somerset Rhapsody by Holst, Folk Song Suite,

and Liberty Bell by the March King, to mention just a few.

If that’s not enough there’s afternoon tea provided too!
