SOCIAL EVENTS It’s been a few weeks since our last match, but that hasn’t meant we haven’t been busy. The SA State Country Champi-onships were held 2 weekends ago at Johnstone Park, with the club’s membership base going to work to do an ex-tremely good job of repre-senting not only ourselves, but the whole league. A big thankyou to anyone who con-tributed over the two days, along with those who helped set up and source supplies for the weekend. It was truly a club effort and the positive feedback we have received has been overwhelming.
Today we welcome the Tailem Bend football and netball clubs in a battle for the Leahy Knee-bone Cup, in what is always a great but emotional day. We have been fortunate to hold this cup several times and would love to be able to leave it at home once again.
The football itself should see a great game, with both teams
very capable on their day. We certainly owe them one from the first round match out at Tailem Bend. With just the one game in 4 weeks all our boys should be fresh, and not willing to give in until the very end. The other game to keep an eye on is the Under 15 match, with both clubs fighting for a spot in the final 5, it should be a rip-per.
Keep an eye out for some up-coming events, on facebook and on the posters around the club as we get down to the serious end of the season.
There is a reunion day coming up after the Rambers game in August which will see a lot of past greats return to the club. Tonight is a Christmas in July party, with everyone asked to wear their best (or worst) Christmas sweater, the netball-ers are doing tea so stick around for what will be some great fun.
As always Go You Blues!

REMINDER
We would like to remind all our wonderful supporters to keep the support to encour-agement and cheering, leav-ing the match day officials, players and coaches to get on with their job. Let’s em-brace this good sporting community with some great football.

LEAHY KNEEBONE CUP The Leahy Kneebone Cup is being held at Imperials today. Merchandise has been developed to commemorate the occasion. The merchandise includes 1 metre of purple & 1 metre of green printed satin hair ribbon and a 40mm Awareness Pin made from Hard Enamel. Both items are priced to sell at $5.00 each. The Leahy and Kneebone Families have been consulted and have jointly nominated the Beyond Blue organisation to receive the profits from the sale of these items. Merchandise can be purchased at the football and netball canteens.
Today we welcome the Tailem Bend Netball
and Football club to our home grounds for
this special day.
The Leahy Kneebone Cup is an extremely im-
portant day on the River Murray calendar, it is
a day where we can all come together to pay
respects to both families and be reminded
that getting behind the wheel at any time is
not to be taken lightly.
There is merchandise available to purchase at
both the netball and football canteens today.
You can purchase ribbons or pins for $5 each
with proceeds being donated to Beyond Blue
– an organisation that was mutually agreed
on by both the Leahy and Kneebone families
so make sure you get on board!
I’m sure everyone will be ready and rearing to
get into their games today after having two
weeks off. It is a bit of an unsettled time of
the year for the club, playing only one game
in four weeks but I’m sure everyone will make
the most of their games today before another
week off next week.
All teams should be refreshed and ready to
put everything into their games. As a club, we
are sitting very well with most teams comfort-
ably in the top four.
We are getting down to the business end of
the year where everyone will be starting to
look towards finals and plan how they can
stay in their top four position or work their
way into a top four position.
Either way, today is a great opportunity for
both clubs to come together and play with
respect and show mateship out on court.
At the end of the day, netball is just a sport, it
provides the opportunity to get out on court
and have fun with your friends and make new
friends.
Congratulations to 15 and Under Division Two
player Tayla Dunning who plays her 100th
game today. If you're out and about today
make sure you head over and give her a cheer
it is a wonderful achievement and you should
be very proud, well done Tayla.
Let’s go out and have a great day today.
Go you Blues!!
