The two teams will resume the suspended game on Monday, May 27 during Round Rock's second trip to Nashville. Prior to the rainout, the Express collected an 8-2 win over the Sounds on Wednesday. CAGING THE REDBIRDS Round Rock LHP Cionel Pérez is set to make his third start of the season, and his second against Memphis, in tonight's series opener. The lefty held the Redbirds scoreless on one hit and two walks while striking out three in 2.0 innings of work on April 13 at Dell Diamond. In six games, including two starts, in his Triple-A career, the Astros' #9 overall prospect is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA (5 ER/11.2 IP). STREAKING AWAY FROM HOME Round Rock has won four straight road contests, the team's second-longest road winning streak in the last three seasons. The 2018 Express won six straight road games from June 22-July 6. The E-Train has out-scored their opponents 42-23 in seven road contests so far in 2019. RELIEVERS ROCKIN' ON THE ROAD The Round Rock bullpen has posted impressive numbers on the road so far this season. In seven contests away from Dell Diamond, the Express bullpen has combined to go 3-1 with a save while compiling a rock- solid 2.08 ERA (6 ER/26.0 IP). E-Train relievers have racked up 32 punchouts to just nine walks on the road. In total, Express pitchers are 5-2 with a 2.95 ERA (19 ER/58.0 IP) with 58 strikeouts and 23 walks away from home this season. FINALLY IN THE FIRST Last night marked the first time in 14 games this season that Express pitchers allowed runs in the first inning. #20STRONGThe Round Rock Express are celebrating their 20th anniversary season in 2019. The club was originally founded in 2000 as the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, winning the Texas League in their inaugural season. The Express advanced to the Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 2005. NO STRANGERS TO THE PCL GAMEJust three players are scheduled to make their Triple-A debut with the Express in 2019: LHP Ryan Hartman, RHP Corbin Martin and RHP Forrest Whitley. The remaining 22 players on Round Rock’s preliminary roster all appeared for the Fresno Grizzlies at some point in 2018. The Grizzlies, who served as Houston’s Triple-A affiliate from 2015-2018, fell to the Memphis Redbirds 3-1 in the best-of-five Pacific Coast League Championship Series a year ago.

STATING THE FACTSAmerican-born players on Round Rock’s preliminary roster hail from 15 different states: Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington. EXPRESS MANAGER MICKEY STOREYMickey Storey joins the Express from the Class-A Quad Cities River Bandits, where he began his managerial career in 2018. The 32-year-old skipper led the River Bandits to an 81-59 record in 2018, the second-best mark in the Midwest League and the club’s highest win total since 2015. Prior to his time in Quad Cities, Storey served as the Development Coach at Class-A Advanced Buies Creek in 2017. The former right-handed pitcher had a nine-year professional playing career that included one season with the Astros in 2012 in which he posted a 3.86 ERA in 26 appearances with the Major League club.

Storey was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he attended nearby Deerfield Beach High School before moving on to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. He was drafted twice in his career, first by the Minnesota Twins in the 22nd round of the 2007 MLB Draft and again by the Oakland Athletics in the 31st round of the 2008 MLB Draft. During his nine-year professional career, Storey pitched at every level of affiliated baseball, including stints with Sacramento and Oklahoma City in the Pacific Coast League. He also posted winter ball stints in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Venezuela. He finished his playing career in 2016 following two seasons with the Somerset Patriots of the independent Atlantic League. In total, the righty amassed a career 3.52 ERA in 385 games.
