4th Generation Jonker Family Wine Estate since 1912

Weltevrede is a Family owned and managed wine estate in the Robertson Wine Valley, close to the town of Bonnievale.

It began when Klaas Jonker purchased the farm in 1912 and planted the first vineyards in the area. He was followed by Japie Jonker, who in 1933 began wine farming on Weltevrede. Today, the tradition is carried on by current owner Philip Jonker.

Legend has it that the Holy Grail contained wine which was drank at the last supper and until this day, the quest to find this sacred vessel is still going on. The Latin phrase “inconcessum persequor” surrounding The Grail on our emblem translates into “I pursue the unattainable” and between the slopes of the beautiful Stellenbosch valley in South Africa, the Borman family pursue to perfect the art of winemaking.

LONGRIDGE Longridge Wine Estate, one of the leading wine estates in South Africa, is situated in the Stellenbosch region on the slopes of the Helderberg mountain range.
