THE CYCLE OREGON WEEKEND is one giant three-day cycling get-together that offers something for everyone. From the hard-core rider to the family that just loves to hang out and pedal a little – and everyone in between – it’s a weekend of the superb riding, relaxed atmosphere and unmatched amenities that make Cycle Oregon legendary. -ROUTE MAPS- DAY ONE, 07/13: “EASTWARD HO!” (12/51/85 MI.) Today’s routes cross the Willamette and head east through the expansive agricultural lands of the valley. After passing through Tangent, medium- and long-route riders will lunch at scenic River Park in Lebanon, with the long riders looping north to take in the Larwood Covered Bridge on the way. The short and medium routes are flat all the way, while the long route adds a series of short climbs to the mix. DAY TWO, 07/14: “FOOTHILLS, FLORA & FAUNA” (11/42/64 MI.) On the second day, everyone heads north for a day of exploring the broad variety of plant and animal life that abounds here. Both medium- and long-route riders will hit the two-mile climb to (and mile-long descent from) Lewisburg Saddle. The medium route passes through the lush EE Wilson Wildlife Management Area, while the longer one heads into Polk County to Maple Grove before coming back together for lunch in Albany.
