Get Involved! Rover Dramawerks currently presents six exciting mainstage shows and two One Day Only 10-minute play festivals every season, as well as camps and classes in three North Texas cities, and we are elated about our continued growth! Join us as we grow, won’t you? Volunteers make all of this possible. We are a business. We are an art. We are a community. If you have ever been a part of any of these things, you have the skills we’re looking for! We’re looking for people to join our dynamic Board of Directors, help us write grants, network on Rover’s behalf with local businesses, build sets, join our new guild - if you’ve got a talent, we can probably make use of it! Just give your contact information to the box office or a roving board member and we’ll take it from there. You can also send an email to Rover’s Artistic Director Carol M. Rice at [email protected] for more information or with kudos, questions, or concerns about anything Rover related, too! If you don’t have a lot of extra time, you can still help us out. Use GoodSearch.com when surfing the web (instead of Google), and Rover gets a penny per search. Use GoodShop when you shop online, and we get a percentage of your purchase! There’s even a nifty toolbar you can download that will tell you when you’re visiting a shopping site that will benefit Rover! With COUPONS! And new to the GoodSearch family is GoodDining, which benefits Rover when you eat out at participating restaurants. Check it out today and register, and you can support us without even thinking about it! You can also link your Tom Thumb Reward Card to Rover. Just fill out an application at the store including our account number, 10965, and we’ll get a percentage every time you buy groceries! Every little bit ads up! Another easy way to support Rover is to visit the businesses whose ads appear in our program, and let them know you’re there because you saw them here! You can even buy an ad for YOUR business! Rates start at just $48 for a quarter page, and we have season ads available, too. More than anything though, we love it when you’re here in our audience. We need and appreciate your support and hope to see you again SOON. Be sure to make your tax-deductible donations and buy your season tickets!

Who's Who Lynn Ambrose (Musical Director) serves as producer and a musical director for Imagination Players, jointly produced by Trinity River Arts Center and KD College. Some favorites there include Footloose, Into the Woods, Les Miserables and Sweeney Todd. She has also musical directed shows at KD Actors Conservatory Black Box Theatre, Highland Park Middle School, Forney High School, Lutheran High School and the JCC. Projects have included TV and film work such as Barney & Friends, Cooper and the Castle Hill Gang, as well as hundreds of commercials. Phineas Bennett (Stage Manager) is excited to be back with Rover Dramawerks after appearing here as Summers in The Girls in 509. Phineas has costumed Sylvia and stage managed Pajama Tops at The Pocket Sandwich Theatre. He has run lights on Legally Blonde: The Musical for LGA and stage managed The Importance of Being Lovely for MBS Productions to name a few of his credits. Phineas would like to thank Blair Hutchinson and Shanon Dickinson whom he credits for starting and always supporting his work in theatre. Phillip Bentham (Nigel) is very excited to make his Rover debut with this show. Philip has been acting in the DFW theatre community for many years. He has been in many shows with companies such as Watertower, Theatre Three, Lyric Stage, Uptown Players and many more. Would you like to see your company’s name in a Rover program?

There are so many opportunities! You can purchase an ad, sponsor a show, or donate goods and services! Contact Jason Rice, Board President, at [email protected] for more information about how easy it is to sponsor a show at Rover Dramawerks! You can sponsor the whole run, be a co-sponsor, or even just sponsor an opening night, closing night, or any special night during the run of any show in our season! We also offer very affordable ads in our programs - and this is a captive audience! You can purchase single show ads or ads for the whole season! Does your company provide something Rover could make use of? Labor for our move-ins, printing services, the loan of a moving truck, and food and drink for our volunteers are just a few things we have gratefully received from local businesses. Do you have an empty building we could rehearse or build in, unused laptops, volunteers you could loan us for various duties, or something else? Contact us!

Rover's Mission Searching for treasures, new and rediscovered,

for theatre "off the beaten path."

Rover Dramawerks produces lost or forgotten works of well-known authors, revives excellent scripts that have suffered from lack of exposure,

and discovers unknown gems of the stage.

Evan Wennerberg (Woodwinds) holds degrees in Music Performance and Computer Science from the University of Delaware. He has performed with the Aspen Summer Music Festival, the national tour of a musical version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg Virginia. Currently, he is a member of the Irving Symphony Orchestra and the Singapore Slingers, specializing in American popular music of the pre-swing era. He also performed big band jazz with the Celebration Orchestra and Glen Dorsey Orchestra. Mr. Wennerberg also enjoys playing woodwinds in pit orchestras. Recent local credits include Annie with The Acting Studio, South Pacific and How to Succeed… with Garland Summer Musicals, and the Column Awards orchestra. During the day, Mr. Wennerberg is an I.T. manager with JPMorgan Chase. Randy Wright (Sound Design) is an engineer with video and audio production experience, a long time supporter of Rover as a patron. This is his first sound design gig. He hopes you like it!

seconds of fame might best come from his role in the Oscar Award winning feature film No Country For Old Men. “I would like to thank Mark and production team as well as this incredible cast for a lot of laughs and the opportunity to get back on stage. Special thanks also go to MnM for not taking this role. ;) Much love to my blood family and my selected family!” Donny Covington (Technical Director) is thrilled to be working with Rover for the first time. He has worked all over the Metroplex as Technical Director, most recently for On The Eve (Spacegrove Productions). He has also built sets for Dallas Shakespeare, Lyric Stage, Upstart Productions, Kitchen Dog, The Dallas Theater Center, and Nouveau 47 (among others). He enjoys long walks on the beach and contemplating the deeper implications of canine blogging. Jessica Farone (Backstage Crew) first started doing tech for shows in her high school when they put on Rumors in their black box theater. She worked props and learned a lot about how things work backstage for her next show, Hairspray, in which she took part in building the set. The next year, she tried out and made it into her school’s production of Mulan: the Musical and had fun being an actor, though it was for a short time. She is very excited to be a part of Something’s Afoot and is so happy to be able to have this experience with all of the cast and crew. Mark C Guerra (Director and Set Design) is very excited to be directing for Rover Dramawerks again, having directed Sunday in New York for them previously. He's directed Pinkalicious: The Musical for C.A.T.S. in Arlington, twice for Rover's One Day Only, and at Mesquite Community Theatre. His next project is playing Howard in Rover’s Boy Gets Girl. When he's not directing or acting, Mark is molding the youth of tomorrow as a Theatre Arts teacher at Bill Arnold Middle School in Grand Prairie. Big thanks to Jason and Carol for giving me a chance, to Becki for helping me keep my head on straight, and to my father for helping me to always be able to do what I love. Andrew Hamilton (Colonel Gilweather) is happy to play the role of Colonel Gilweather. After not setting foot on a stage for 18 years, Andrew participated on Rover’s One Day Only 18 and had so much fun that he returned for One Day Only 19. That proved to be enough to convince him to audition for Something’s Afoot. He would like to thank his friends and family for their love and support and for not trying to have him committed for trying something like this. Eddy Herring (Flint) has always loved theatre and performing on stage. A graduate of the University of North Texas, his theatrical credits include Greater Tuna, To Kill A Mockingbird, Joseph And The Amazing Techicolor Dreamcoat, West Side Story, and Godspell. He most recently played the roles of Will Parker in Oklahoma! (FUMC Allen) and Dr. Armstrong in And Then There Were None (McKinney Repertory Theatre). He is also a member of the Allen Philharmonic Symphony Chorus. Appearing as Flint, this is his debut performance with Rover Dramawerks. Roger Hogarth (Clive) was born in London England and during his school years performed as a magician and pianist. It was following a fifty year hiatus and encouragement from his family that he found himself in McKinney community theatre in shows such as A Christmas Carol and My Fair Lady. He is delighted to have been selected for the Rover Dramawerks production of Something’s Afoot. Darcy Koss (Backstage Crew) was spotted by director Jason Rice while working at the Habitat ReStore. He was immediately taken by her innate organizational talent and asked her to become involved. She has lost count how many times she has worked with with Rover previously, but she loves it! “Thank you for this opportunity and for making it fun!”

Jeff Mabray (Lighting Design) is happy to be back working again with rover. He would like to thank his wife Johanna and children Grayson, Brynna, and Ella for allowing him out of the house long enough to be a part of this production. Katherine Mayer (Hope Langdon) is a Lafayette, LA native and a true Ragin' Cajun at heart. New to the Metroplex, she is excited to be a part of Something’s Afoot. She was last seen in One Day Only 19. Former roles include Nellie in Some Enchanted Evening, Marian Paroo in The Music Man, and singing "O Bless the Lord" in Godspell. She would like to thank her wonderful husband, Matthew, and her family and friends for supporting her, as well as her two furry, four-legged children who hear her sing more than anyone. Rebecca McDonald (Choreographer and Props Design) has over 14 years choreography experience and has sung, acted, danced, directed, and choreographed around the DFW Metroplex, New York, Ireland, and Scotland. Recent directing credits include: staged readings at Kitchen Dog Theatre’s “PupFest”, Gilligan's Island: the Musical at Rover Dramawerks, Boy Gets Girl and Mark One at Texas Woman’s University, and Words with Junior Players. Favorite choreography credits include: The Wizard of Oz: The Musical, Crazy For You (ACT), Hip Hop Real Stop: B Girlz Swag (New York) and Crabs in a Bucket: The Ladder of Booker T. Washington (Ft Worth MoMa). Rebecca will direct Rover’s upcoming show, Boy Gets Girl. Big thanks to Mark Guerra, her partner in crime! Tim McGee (Drums) is thrilled to be joining the band for his first production for Rover Dramawerks. He was a member of the drumline for three years at Grand Prairie High School, where he also was the drummer/percussionist for the jazz band. He has been in many bands outside of school and has been drumming for seven years. Ricky Pope (Second Piano) is thrilled to be part of this production and to be working in Dallas. He has spent the last five years as an actor in the national tours of Annie, All Shook Up and Titanic. He musical directed Midlife: The Crisis Musical and Smokey Joe’s Cafe for the Broadway Palm West in Phoenix. Originally from DFW, he has musical directed at most of the major theatres and was nominated twice for the Leon Rabin Award. After Something's Afoot he will return to NY to work on Broadway Backwards 8 at the Palace Theatre. Duncan Rogers (Dr. Grayburn) is honored to perform in this marvelous musical at Rover Dramawerks. He was last seen as Alfred Mellox in Death By Chocolate at Garland Civic Theatre. Some of his favorite roles include Lord Montague and the Apothecary in Romeo and Juliet at Garland Civic Theatre, Professor Willard in Our Town at Frisco Community Theatre, Slim in Of Mice and Men at ICT Mainstage and the characters in his one-man show The Book of Job. He also played Mr. Beaver in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Lord Glozelle in Prince Caspian, both at Artisan Center Theater. Elizabeth Serafin (Assistant Stage Manager) has been tech once before. She was the sound board op for the last show, Completely Hollywood. She is excited to have this opportunity to be the ASM under Phineas Bennett and is excited to continue doing tech until she can score a roll onstage. Danielle Shirar (Lettie) began acting at the age of eight, under her father's encouragement. She's been hooked ever since, performing every chance she gets, stateside and overseas. Having appeared in several One Day Onlys and The Girls in 509, she is delighted to return to the Rover stage. She's grateful for the friends she has made in this show and looks forward to participating in future productions. As always, she dedicates her performance to her late father, actor Frank Shirar.

Ryan Matthieu Smith (Costume Design) is an award winning costume designer, stylist, and production designer working in film and theatre in New York City, Los Angeles, and Dallas. His styling has graced the pages of Rolling Stone, and Interview Magazines. Favorite Theatre Designs include the Southwest Premier of Sideshow: the Musical and Batboy the Musical. He is a three-time recipient of the Column Award for Best Costuming. Most recently, Ryan has received critical acclaim for his design work in the NYC Fringe Festival musical Who Murdered Love? and for Siren's Heart, currently running at The Actor's Temple in New York. Ryan is thrilled to be collaborating with an amazing team and wishes to thank Joshua Randal Leonard. Ryan will next be directing Greater Tuna for the Grand Prairie Arts Council at The Uptown Theater in March! Mary Tiner (Miss Tweed) is delighted to return to the Rover Dramawerks stage. Her previous performances include a One Day Only, Madame Ernestine Von Liebedich in Little Mary Sunshine, Louise in Dilemmas with Dinner, and Mrs. Toothe in Everything in the Garden. Her other roles include Lady Riverdale in Death by Chocolate and Mrs. Boyle in The Mousetrap at Garland Civic Theatre, Mrs. Henry Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility for the Stolen Shakespeare Guild, Sondra “Sassy” Saxton in Debutante Warriors at The Eisemann Center of Performing Arts, and Edith in First Baptist of Ivy Gap at ICT Mainstage. She wishes to thank her family, friends, cast and crew for all their love and support. Yvonne Vautier-DeLay (Diction/Dialect Coach) holds two certificates in Elocution from the Royal College of Music and was trained in elocution by a Royal Academy of Dramatic Art graduate. She has appeared on stage in England and the U.S. Local activities include 16 productions ranging from Shakespeare to Woody Allen, as well as three summer programs of elocution for children. In addition, Yvonne does private tutoring and audition preparation with special emphasis on vocal projection and precision in various English dialects. Heather Walker Shin (Lady Manley Prowe) is thrilled to be making her second appearance on the Rover stage, having been seen previously as Ginger Grant in last season's Gilligan's Island: the Musical. Favorite credits elsewhere include: Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, and Mary Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life. Special thanks to husband James and son Grady for being the best fan club ever! He has worked in the stage crew for Uptown Players' production of The Producers. This is his first time acting with a professional group. Favorite roles on the Brookhaven stage include Mr. Etches in Titanic the musical and Pete in De Donde.
