Get Involved!

Welcome to Rover and the fourth mainstage show of our 15th Anniversary Season! We are pleased to present seven exciting mainstage shows and two One Day Only 10-minute play festivals again this season, as well as classes and camps for children and adults. We also offer unique Adventure Nights programming every Friday and Saturday between our mainstage shows, the next of which will be ComedySportz on May 22-23 at 8:00 p.m.! There’s still time to join our ever growing ranks of season ticket holders by picking up a 3-show Season Sampler or Punch Card. Then you’ll be ready to renew when we announce our 16th Season during Come Blow Your Horn later this summer. Join us as we grow, won’t you? Volunteers make all of this possible. We are a business. We are an art. We are a community. If you have ever been a part of any of these things, you have the skills we’re looking for! We’re looking for people to join our dynamic Board of Directors, help us write grants, network on Rover’s behalf with local businesses, build sets, join our new guild - if you’ve got a talent, we can probably make use of it! Just give your contact information to the box office or a roving board member and we’ll take it from there. You can also send an email to Rover’s Artistic Director Carol M. Rice at [email protected] for more information or with kudos, questions, or concerns about anything Rover related, too! If you don’t have a lot of extra time, you can still help out. Use GoodSearch.com when surfing the web (instead of Google), and Rover gets a penny per search. Use GoodShop when you shop online, and we get a percentage of your purchase! There’s even a nifty toolbar you can download that will tell you when you’re visiting a shopping site that will benefit Rover! With COUPONS! You can also link your Tom Thumb Reward Card to Rover. Just fill out an application at the store including our account number, 10965, and we’ll get a percentage every time you buy groceries! Every little bit ads up! Another easy way to support Rover is to visit the businesses whose ads appear in our program, and let them know you’re there because you saw them here! You can even buy an ad for YOUR business! Rates start at just $50 for a quarter page, and we have season ads available, too. Be a show sponsor! You can sponsor the whole run, be a co-sponsor, or even just sponsor an opening night, closing night, or any special night during the run of any show in our season! And of course you can donate to Rover, and we don’t just need money (although that’s the BEST way to help) - you can also donate goods and services! More than anything though, we love it when you’re here in our audience. We need and appreciate your support and hope to see you again SOON. Be sure to make your tax-deductible donations and buy your season tickets!

At Theatre Arlington, she has been seen as Miss Sara in Fruitcakes and Mrs. Chauvenet in Harvey. She has also enjoyed the thrill of popcorn as Rebecca at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre’s production of The Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. She can also be found on Barney’s Rhyme Time Rhythm as The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe. Recently, she appeared in The Painted Woman as a Homeless Person, and Jack’s Bad Day, as Gram Gram. He runs his own production company, Camp Death Productions. Ronnie Giddens (Erwin) has loved Rover Dramawerks since he appeared in one of their One Day Only productions a long time ago. He is very happy to appear with such a talented cast and crew in a Rover full length production. Ronnie’s last role was in his church’s Christmas presentation of For Unto Y’all. He has been acting on stage and in short films for too long to count and especially enjoyed playing a Grim Reaper with a sense of humor in Grim and a kleptomaniacal pyromaniac in I Know You Are… He would like to thank Lindsey for sharing her love for all things theatrical and his wonderful wife for always pushing him to be his best. Fernando Hernández (Nate) is excited to make his Rover debut with 18 Holes. Some of his previous credits include Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (C.O.R.P), Dennis in Mauritius (SMU Theatre), and most recently Dr. Sanderson in Harvey (C.O.R.P). In his free time, Fernando enjoys making music and performing it around the DFW area, as well coaching aspiring, college-bound and working actors to better their art. Fernando would like to thank his mother, father, and sister for their continuous support, and his girlfriend for her utmost understanding and patience. This show is dedicated to his grandpa, Adrian Martinez Diaz. Facebook.com/FernandoHernandezOfficial Annika Horne (Triona) is thrilled to be a part of this production at Rover Dramawerks! Her favorite roles include Meg in WRENS (also at Dramawerks), Fredricka Armfeldt in A Little Night Music and Patrice in 13. Last year, she cowrote a song on the soundtrack of the feature film The Hornets Nest and has performed twice at American Airline's SkyBall. In May, Annika will act in a French Disney movie called Mére et Fille. Lindsey Humphries (Director) is thrilled to be directing 18 Holes. Previously, she has directed Bloody Murder and Alice and Margo here at Rover, and Death By Chocolate for Frisco Community Theater. Lindsey serves as Adventure Night Coordinator here at Rover, as well as designing props and costumes throughout the Metroplex. She has also designed props for Pocket Sandwich Theatre’s productions of Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Herbbits, Wizards & Borks, Oh My! last year and Nobody’s Perfect this year. His most recent play, 2nd Anniversary Near Taurus Major, was recently chosen as one of the Best American Short plays of 2013 (published by Applause Books). He owns the play publishing company Next Stage Press (www.nextstagepress.net) and is thankful to his wife Jessica for letting him come back to his home state to see the Regional Premiere of 18 Holes. Many thanks to Carol, Lindsey, Jason, the cast, crew, and the entire extended Rover Dramawerks family of artists, supporters, and audiences for making live theatre in the Great State of Texas continue to happen. Enjoy it, y’all! Darcy Koss (Stage Manager) first stage managed The Girls in 509 here at Rover. Since then, she has stage managed Bloody Murder, WRENS, Same Time Next Year, and Other People's Money, among others, and has loved every minute of it. She loves working with the cast and crew and bringing the shows to life. She'd like to thank Rover for this opportunity. Nancy Lamb (Norma) has appeared in several previous Rover productions, including Around the World in Eighty Days, Gilligan’s Island: the Musical, Alice and Margo, and most recently, Other People’s Money. This is Doug’s first appearance in a Rover production. He has been in many shows with another theater group in Plano. He truly has had a wonderful experience with the Rover theater, the director Lindsay, and this amazing cast. He hopes you will enjoy this production as much as he has enjoyed being a part of it. Brittany Lindsey (Costume Designer) is thrilled to be costume designing her first show, 18 Holes, at Rover Dramawerks. She is currently a student at Texas A&M University-Commerce where she is studying Theatre. Brittany has costume designed The Big, Friendly Giant and The Further Adventures of Tom and Huck and Other Plays. She is looking forward to costuming many more shows in the future! Parker has previously performed in The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker, Oliver!, To Kill a Mockingbird, Gypsy, Ebenezer Scrooge and A Christmas Carol. He attends Stinson Elementary, sings in the choir; plays volleyball; and dances with the Spring Creek Church performance team. Parker greatly appreciated the opportunity to work for Ms. Lindsey once again and enjoyed the support he received from all of the cast. Parker is represented by The Clutts Agency and hopes to pursue an acting career or become a plastic surgeon. Parker thanks his parents for always supporting his dreams and for chauffeuring him to rehearsals!

Mike Partyka (Doug) began his theatre career with minor parts in high school productions of The King and I and 42nd Street. After taking a long sabbatical to pursue an alternative career as an IT consultant, Mike returned to the stage last year, taking roles in Rover’s One Day Only 22: A Blow to the Head and Adventure Nights: Saturday Night Live. Mike made his major theatre debut in last month’s production of Other People's Money. 18 Holes is his second major production with Rover Dramawerks. Clint Prentice (Ivan). Previous to 18 Holes, Clint was stage manager for Rover's Who Was That Lady I Saw You With? He has acted and directed in many Rover One Day Only productions. This will be Clint's first full production onstage since Rover's 2009 Dilemmas With Dinner. In his spare time, Clint works with video production, social media, and blog writing -- he's very professional, or something like that. Okay, that's not true he's paying us to say that. Not enough, apparently. Jason Rice (Sound Designer) has been on the Rover board since it was founded and is the current Board President. He has designed sound for such shows as Other People’s Money, The Cupcake Conspiracy, Who Was That Lady I Saw You With?, Written in Time, The Crowd You’re in With, Adventures in Mating, Mary’s Wedding, The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged), and Night Must Fall. He has received awards for acting and sound design, and he has written several custom murder mysteries and one-act plays. Jason has composed music for both live theatre and video, receiving the Aegis Award for his original composition for Matt Kaufman’s film short Willoughby. Some of the plays he has directed for Rover include WRENS, More Fun Than Bowling, Premiere!, Around the World in 80 Days, The Runner Stumbles, and War of the Worlds. As much fun as theater is, Jason’s favorite role is Daddy to Stephen and Scott. “What’s my motivation for ‘Because I said so!’?”

Jessica Roth (Yvonne) is thrilled to be making her debut in Texas with Rover Dramawerks. Coming from Pennsylvania, she has received a Bachelors in Theatre and Dance at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Jessica has also appeared in several Forensic Files episodes along with independent projects. She continues studying her craft at TBell Studios. Jessica is looking forward to being involved with many more theatre projects and would like to thank Rover Dramawerks, her husband Tommy for all his support, and the entire cast for the great experience. Jared Seman (Hal) is excited to be part of his first Rover Dramawerks production and wants to thank Lindsey for the opportunity and his wife Frances and son Jackson for their unwavering support. Jared has performed at Pocket Sandwich Theatre in melodramas like Curse of the Mummy and Captain Phantasm & the Countdown to Doom, as well as Camp Death Productions’ debut play, Spring-Heeled Jack Vs. The Enigmatic Dr. Hu. When not on stage, Jared is an aspiring playwright and comedy writer whose work can be seen on YouTube as a founding member of the sketch comedy company, Weresquirrel Productions. Joseph L. Taylor II (Fight Choreographer): “I would like to thank you blessing us with your patronage at Rover Dramawerks. Most recent fight scenes are from Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lilly and The Cupcake Conspiracy. I would like to personally thank Carol and Jason Rice, Lindsey Humphries, and Rhonda Durant. Thank you for coming out and seeing what we love to do then I urge to share that love with everyone you come in contact with on your travels. “ Dave Tenney (Set and Lighting Designer/Master Carpenter) is pleased to be working with Rover again, having previously designed sets for Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily, Private Lives and Morphic Resonance. Dave recently folded his own small scenic design and construction company into Lighting-Guy Enterprises (the company formerly known as Samarco) and is currently the rental/sales/scenic department manager. Over the last several years, first with his own company, and now with LGE, Dave has designed and/or constructed sets for hundreds of plays, films, television shows, and special events throughout the Metroplex. When he’s not busy making sawdust, Dave also works as a freelance television engineer for Time Warner Cable Sportschannel, ESPN, ABC Sports, and others. In his off hours, Dave enjoys creating original works of art, reading good books, cooking, and hopes one day to finish getting his private pilot’s license.
