1. IT IS THE INTENT OF THESE DRAWINGS TO SHOW IMPROVEMENTS TO EXISTING GYM AND RACQUETBALL COURTS,INCLUDING FLOORING REPLACEMENT, FLOOD CONTROL, SITE WORK, AND EQUIPMENT CONTROLS.
2. ALL WORK IS TO BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE AND LOCAL CODE REQUIREMENTS.
3. ALL WORK SHOWN IS NEW, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A BID TO FULLY AQUAINT THEMSELVES WITH THEEXISTING CONDITIONS IN ALL AREAS OF THE PROPOSED WORK.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT OF ANY AND ALL INCONSISTENCIES WITH REGARD TOTHE ACTUAL SITE CONDITIONS AND THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
6. EXISTING ROOF TOP EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING AIR HANDLING UNITS, PLUMBING VENT STACKS, DRAINS, ETC. ANDDIMENSIONS SHOWN ON PLANS ARE APPROXIMATE. THE CONTRACTOR MUST FIELD VERIFY LOCATIONS, SIZES,QUANTITIES AND ALL DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO PREPARATION OF SHOP DRAWINGS AND COMMENCEMENT OF WORK.
7. THE CONTRACTOR'S WORK SHALL BE FULLY INTEGRATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, SHOPDRAWINGS, SUBMITTALS, MANUFACTURER'S DATA AND WARRANTY REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL CONDITIONS OFTHE PROJECT.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE SCHEDULE WITH THE OWNER AND AT ALL TIMES PROTECT THE EXISTINGBUILDING FROM DUST, VAPOR, GAS AND ODOR INFILTRATION. ANY RESULTING DAMAGE DUE TO, BUT NOT LIMITED TO,THESE ELEMENTS SHALL BE PATCHED, REPAIRED, REPLACED, AND / OR CLEANED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.THE BUILDING WILL BE OCCUPIED DURING CONSTRUCTION.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO PROTECT EXISTING PARTS OF THE BUILDING NOT INCLUDED IN THESCOPE OF WORK OF THIS CONTRACT.
10. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS TO OBTAIN DIMENSIONS. FIELD VERIFY EXISTING DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS, ANDRECHECK MEASUREMENTS PRIOR TO INSTALLING NEW PRODUCTS.
11. NO PRODUCTS CONTAINING ASBESTOS OR OTHER HAZARDOUS MATERIAL SHALL BE INSTALLED ON THIS PROJECT ORUSED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT.
12. THE CONTRACTORS ARE TO PROVIDE FIELD ENGINEERING SERVICES AS REQUIRED FOR PROPER COMPLETION OF THEWORK INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO , THE FOLLOWING:
A: ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING LINES, LEVELS, ELEVATIONS, LAYOUTS, STAKES, ETC.
13. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE, ERECT AND MAINTAIN CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES AND TEMPORARY UTILITIES SUCHAS: WATER, ELECTRICITY, TELEPHONE, SANITARY FACILITIES, ENCLOSURES, TARPAULINS, BARRICADES,GUARD-RAILS, CANOPIES, LIGHTING AND TEMPORARY FENCING AS REQUIRED BY THE APPLICABLE ADVISOR TOPROTECT THE SITE, THE PUBLIC, WORKERS, PEDESTRIANS, AND THE USER OF THE BUILDING.
14. ALL WORK PERFORMED SHALL BE BY EXPERIENCED CRAFTSMEN SKILLED IN THEIR TRADE AS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WORK IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND ACCEPTABLE TO THEOWNER.
15. CONTRACTOR SHALL PREVENT MOVEMENT OF STRUCTURE, ENGINEER, PROVIDE AND PLACE BRACING AND SUPPORTS OR SHORING AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFETY AND SUPPORT OF STRUCTURE AND ASSUME LIABILITY FOR SUCH MOVEMENT, SETTLEMENT, DAMAGE, OR INJURY. CONTRACTOR SHALL CEASE OPERATION AND NOTIFY THE OWNER IMMEDIATELY IF SAFETY OF STRUCTURE APPEARS ENDANGERED AND TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PROPERLY SUPPORT STRUCTURE. DO NOT RESUME OPERATIONS UNTIL SAFETY IS RESTORED..
16. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN FREE AND CLEAR INGRESS AND EGRESS FOR ALL TRADESMAN IN THE BUILDINGAS WELL AS FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCESS AS REQUIRED. ROWAN UNIVERSITY WILL NOT ALLOW THE STORAGE OFMATERIALS THAT WOULD PREVENT OR RESTRICT EGRESS.
17. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF ALL DEMOLISHED MATERIAL FROMTHE SITE.
18. ALL CONTRACTORS SHALL COORDINATE THE INSTALLATION OF THEIR SCOPE OF WORK WITH TEH CONSTRUCTIONDOCUMENTS HEREIN AND DESIGN INTENT. TO THE EXTENT THAT CONFLICTS ARISE, THE CONTRACTORS SHALL IDENTIFY ANY CONFLICTS BETWEEN THE DESIGN, DESIGN INTENT, AND THEIR SCOPE OF WORK PRIOR TO FABRICATING OR ATTEMPTING THE INSTALLATION OF WORK SO THAT SUCH CONFLICT(S) CAN BE RESOLVED WITHOUT DISRUPTION OF THE WORK PROGRESS. ANY SUCH CONFLICTS ARE TO BE REPORTED TO THE ARCHITECTDURING THE COORDINATION DRAWING PROCESS OR EARLIER.
19. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ALL CONTRACTORS TO MEET OR EXCEED THE REQUIREMENTS OF THEAPPLICABLE GOVERNING CODES AND TO COORDINATE THEIR WORK WITH ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS AND TRADES.THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT OF ANY CONFLICTS.

13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AMINIMUM OF 24 HOURS PRIOR TO BLOCKING DRIVEWAYS ORENTERING UTILITY EASEMENTS.
14. TRAFFIC INGRESS AND EGRESS FOR DRIVEWAYS ANDPEDESTRIAN ACCESS FACILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINEDTHROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION.
15. ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BEREPLACED WITH LIKE-KIND OR BETTER AT THE CONTRACTOR'SEXPENSE. TREES, BUSHES, SHRUBBERY AND OTHER DAMAGEDPLANTINGS TO REMAIN SHALL BE REPLACED WITHIN 72 HOURSOF REMOVAL AND ARE TO BE THOROUGHLY WATERED-IN.
16. PAVED SURFACES, PAVEMENT MARKERS AND MARKINGS SHALLBE PROTECTED FROM DAMAGE BY TRACKED EQUIPMENT.
17. PROPERTY MARKERS DISTURBED DURING CONSTRUCTION ARETO BE REPLACED BY A REGISTERED PUBLIC LAND SURVEYORFOR THE ORIGINAL PROPERTY OWNER AT NO SEPARATE PAY.
18. CONSTRUCTION STAKING WILL BE PROVIDED BY THECONTRACTOR. TWO COPIES OF STAKING NOTES TO BEPROVIDED TO THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
19. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN UPDATED RED-LINEDRECORD DRAWINGS ON SITE FOR INSPECTION BY THEENGINEER.
20. MAINTENANCE AND CLEAN-UP OF THE PROJECT IS REQUIREDFOR THE PROJECT LIMITS AND DURATION, REGARDLESS OFTHE CONTRACTOR'S SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES WITHIN THEPROJECT LIMITS.
21. THE REMOVAL OF ANY ABANDONED UTILITIES REQUIRED TOCOMPLETE THE WORK SHALL BE INCIDENTAL AND NOSEPARATE PAYMENT SHALL BE MADE.
22. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO STOCKPILENECESSARY MATERIAL ON-SITE OR AT A SECURED OFF-SITELOCATION AT NO ADDITIONAL EXPENSE TO THE OWNER.
22. THESE DRAWINGS DO NOT INCLUDE THE NECESSARYCOMPONENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION SAFETY. 23. THE LOCATION, TYPE, SIZE, DEPTH, ETC. OF ALL EXISTINGUTILITIES ARE APPROXIMATE AND MUST BE VERIFIED IN THEFIELD BY THE CONTRACTOR AND AT HIS OWN EXPENSEPRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. THECONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY ALL UTILITY COMPANIESOPERATING WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION SITE 3 DAYS PRIORTO COMMENCEMENT OF ANY EXCAVATION FOR ACCURATEFIELD LOCATIONS. FOR UTILITY MARKOUT. THECONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE DESIGNENGINEER OF ALL DEVIATIONS OF SITE CONDITIONS AND/ORIF DEPARTURES FROM THE APPROVED DESIGN BECOMENECESSARY DUE TO SUCH DEVIATIONS.
24. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL LINES,ELEVATIONS, AND MEASUREMENTS, EXERCISINGPRECAUTION TO VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS SHOWN ONDRAWING.
25. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE DESIGNENGINEER SHOULD DEPARTURES FROM THE APPROVEDDESIGN BECOME NECESSARY DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCESWHICH ARISE DURING CONSTRUCTION.
26. ITEMS NOT SPECIFIED BUT NECESSARY FOR PROPERCONSTRUCTION SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED BYTHE CONTRACTOR THE SAME AS IF SPECIFIED.
SITE/CIVIL NOTES:
1. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING PROPERDRAINAGE OF THE PROJECT SITE AND ALL UPGRADIENTAREAS TO THE SITE.
2. CATCHBASIN GRATE AND HEADERS SHALL BE RESET ASREQUIRED TO MATCH FINISH GRADE ELEVATIONS, UNLESSOTHERWISE NOTED OR DIRECTED BY THE THE ENGINEER.PLACEMENT GRATES AND HEADERS SHALL BE ALIGNED WITHADJACENT CURBING AND PAVEMENT.
3. MILLINGS, STONE, SOIL, CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS, AND ALLOTHER RELATED MATERIALS SHALL BECOME THE PROPERTYOF THE CONTRACTOR FOR OFF-SITE DISPOSAL.
4. INADEQUATE INSPECTION OF WORKMANSHIP SHALL NOTRELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR OF HIS RESPONSIBILITY TOPERFORM THE WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLEPLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND REGULATIONS AND TO OBTAINWRITTEN APPROVAL OF MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS, ANDACCEPTANCE OF THE CONSTRUCTION BY THE OWNER.
5. ALL CONCRETE USED FOR SITE WORK SHALL HAVE AMINIMUM 28 DAY COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF 4,000 PSI. ORAS REQUIRED BY THE A/E.
7. TOPSOIL SHALL NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE OR USEDAS SPOIL, UNLESS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER AND INCONFORMANCE TO AN APPROVED SOIL EROSION ANDSEDIMENT CONTROL PLAN.
8. SUBBASE MATERIAL SHALL BE FREE OF ORGANIC ANDOTHER UNSUITABLE MATERIALS. SHOULD SUBBASE BEDEEMED UNSUITABLE, SUBBASE IS TO BE REMOVED ANDFILLED WITH APPROVED FILL MATERIAL COMPACTED TO 95%OPTIMUM DENSITY (AS DETERMINED BY MODIFIED PROCTORMETHOD).
