Faye Bragg Women On MissionTues., March 24 at 10:30 a.m., ParlorWe are honored to have our Interim Pastor, Dr. Jon DeBell as our speaker. Don’t miss this opportunity. Bring someone with you.

Coronavirus PreparationTo say that there is a great amount of attention focused on the Coronavirus outbreak would certainly be an understatement. In their regular meeting Sunday evening, our deacons discussed how First Baptist can best be prepared in response to how events proceed in the next few weeks. Here are the main takeaways from the meeting:

1. If you have a cough and fever please stay home! If you have responsibilities at church attempt to fi nd someone else to cover them or contact the appropriate leader to let them know of your absence.

2. When at church follow all common sense recommendations about not shaking hands, covering all coughs or sneezes, etc.

3. We will pay close attention to what we are being advised by state and local offi cials. We have excellent contacts within our fellowship to help us stay on top of things. The deacons have placed any decisions that might have to be made regarding canceling meetings in the hands of the ministerial staff , trustee chairman, and deacon chairman.

Pray for God to give us wisdom as we respond and as we attempt to be all that we can be for Him. Please make sure to contact the church offi ce or your deacon to let us know of ministry needs and opportunities where we can make a diff erence.

Remember that we will be hosting the Rowan Baptist Association Revival March 15-17. I sense a growing desire among the churches of this county to be united in our calling to be on mission for Jesus. We can accomplish much more for the kingdom working together. Plan to come 15 minutes early to each service for a variety of special music. Sunday night, our church will be in charge of the music with several of our members and our choir singing.

This coming Sunday morning the Pastor Search Committee will have an update for us during the morning services. Continue to pray for God to bless their work!
