l .0 INTRODUCTION

At various times throughout the summer, June to September, 1990 a prospecting program has been in place which has turned up numerous significant assays. From August 1-18 a detail geological and geochemical (B-horizon soils) survey was also conducted on the North Shore area of the Horseshoe Island claims to follow-up these anomalous gold values obtained from the prospecting. The results of these surveys complimented the prospecting results. During September another geological survey was conducted further to the northwest on the claim Lines there.

2.0 LOCATION AND ACCESS

The property is located in the Birch Lake area, 110 km east of Red Lake. Access is by fixed wing aircraft from Red Lake or by a winter road from the South Bay Mines Road, 50 km south (see Figure 1).

3.0 CLAIM DISPOSITION

The Horseshoe property consists of 326 contiguous unpatented mining claims located in the Casummit Lake area in the Red Lake Mining Division. See Figure 2 for claim block outline.

4.0 PREVIOUS WORK

1944 - Unknown party, performed drilling totalling 16 holes.

1969 - Canex Aerial Exploration Ltd. - performed an airborne EM, mag and gamma ray geophysical program and drilled 3 holes (totalling 792m) based on the results. Minor sulphides encountered.

1970 - Sudbury Contact Mines Ltd. - performed drilling totalling 6 holes (948m)

1974 - Gold Search Ltd. - performed a ground mag and EM survey.

1983-85 - St. Joe Canada Inc. - performed geological mapping and drilling totalling 18 holes (3081m)

1984 - Duration Mines Ltd. - performed geological mapping, ground EM and mag surveys with 2 gold occurrences reported.

5.0 REGIONAL GEOLOGY

The Birch Lake volcanic-sedimentary belt is part of the Uchi Lake greenstone subprovince which also includes the Red Lake belt to the west and the Pickle Lake belt to the east.

The dominant structural feature in this northern part of the belt is the NE trending Swain Lake deformation zone and a number of related ESE trending splays. The Horseshoe claims cover the northern part of the Swain Lake deformation zone and at least one splay which hosts the Horseshoe Island deposit.

The claim block is underlain by predominantly volcanics northwest of the Swain Lake fault and a younger sequence of mixed volcanics and sediments to the southeast. Felsic and mafic intrusive bodies are found in both sequences.

6.0 PROPERTY GEOLOGY

The North Shore area consists of strongly altered felsic volcanics (sericitized lapilli tuff) within a major northeast trending deformation zone referred to as the Swain Lake Deformation Zone. The other important unit noted in this area is a high level felsic stock (granodiorite), which is also recognized at Horseshoe to have aided in focusing mineralizing fluids. Numerous significant gold values (up to 8.8 g/t) from grab samples have been returned and indicate gold mineralization within or marginal to this granodiorite. The geochemical survey compliments this with a soil anomaly (up to 300 ppb) which correlates well with the anomalous grab samples. As well as gold mineralization recognized in the vicinity of the granodiorite, there also exists a wide range of significant gold values (up to 21.0 g/t) in gossanous zones extending 3 km to the west along the Deformation Zone. See Figure 2 for Horseshoe compilation.

7.0 SURVEY PARAMETERS

Prospecting: Kol and Jean Lovang prospected intermittently from June to September, 1990 on the entire Horseshoe Island property. Their initial work turned up several anomalous gold values from grab sampling.

Geological Mapping: from August 1-18 a detail geological mapping survey was conducted on a cut grid utilizing a 4.5 km baseline with 100m spaced lines. The mapping concentrated on an anomalous gold zone outlined by the results of the prospecting. See figure 3.

From August 22-Sept. 3 a claim line geology survey was conducted northwest of the anomalous gold zone to determine if anything of similar significance or geology could be turned up here.

Geochemistry: A total of 287 B-horizon soils were taken and turned up several anomalous gold values (up to 300 ppb) which correlates well with the anomalous grab samples.

All sampling was forwarded to TSL, Saskatoon or Accurassay, Red Lake for Au analysis.

8.0 CONCLUSIONS

Numerous significant gold values were returned from the prospecting and sampling which were duplicated during the mapping survey. The geochemical survey compliments these results. These results indicate gold mineralization within or marginal to a granodiorite stock, similar to that of the Horseshoe Island deposit.

9.0 RECOMMENDATIONS

Given the degree of alteration and the numerous significant assays probably related to the high level felsic intrusive, I would recommend a trenching/channel sampling program to test the extent of the gold mineralization.

Respectfully submitted,
