INTRODUCTION

A program of linecutting, VLF-EM and magnetometer surveying

was conducted on the property during the period March 3 to 11,

1985- Grid spacing is 400 feet between lines with stations every

100 feet along the lines. A total of 6.2 miles of line was cut to

cover the property.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

The property consists of four contiguous mining claims numb

ered P-683164,169,181 ft 24?, all located in Yeo Township, Porcu

pine Mining Division, District of Sudbury, Ontario (Figure #1).

The claims are currently in good standing with the provincial

mining recorder and are registered to Calvin Black, lie. #A-43354

(P-683l64,l69 ft 181) and Leo P. Snider, lie. #C-32054 (P-68324?).

The property is held in trust for Kidd Resources Ltd., with head

office located at 1585-B Britannia Road East, Suites 11 b 12,

Mississauga, Ontario, L4W 2M4.

LOCATION AND ACCESS

The property is located in central Yeo Township (see O.M.N.R.

plan G-2481).

Access to the property is easily attained via several lumber

ing roads which cross the property and branch north from the Chest

er Road.

Personnel involved in the linecutting and geophysical surveys

travelled to the property daily by snow-mobile.

HISTORY OF EXPLORATION* The general area has been prospected since about 1900 (Siragusa,

G.M., 1981).

Shallow shafts have been sunk in the area in 1912, 1932, 1935,

1936 and 1937* Several shallow shafts have been sunk in recent years

on the property of Murgold Resources Ltd. in Chester Twp. to the

east. Small mills were installed and operated intermittently at

several of the shafts but prolonged and economically viable mining

has not been achieved to date.

GENERAL GEOLOGY

The nortern portion of Yeo Township is composed predominantly

of Archean volcanic rock. A band of thoeiitic volcanic flows cuts

the northeast corner of the township trending at the regional

strikeof about 100 to 120 degrees. The bulk of the northern portion

of the township is composed of intermediate pyroclastics with some

intercalated sediments and tholeiitic flows in the northwest corn

er of the township. Another band of tholeiitic flows crosses the

central portion of the township at the regional strike and is

bounded to the northeast and southwest by intrusive trondhjemites

belonging to the quartz diorite clan. The southeast extension of

the aforementioned tholeiitic band has been mapped by Siragusa

(1981) as migmatitic rock.

CLAIM GEOLOGY

The bulk of the claims is underlain by trondhjemitic-graono-

dioritic intrusive rock with the remainder crossed by tholeiitic

volcanics in the southwest portion of the property*

The intrusive trondhjemite-granodiorite is generally light

in colour with a relatively low content of mafic minerals. Volcanic

CLAIM GEOLOGY CONT.

xenoliths altered to diorite-quartz-diorite are common.

The tholeiitic volcanic rock is composed of foliated flows

some of which are pillowed.

GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS

A VLF-EM and a magnetometer survey were conducted on the prop

erty during the period March 3 to 11, 1985*

The VLP-EM instrument used was a Geonics EM-16 and the primary

transmitter used was Cutler, Maine with a frequency of 24.0 KHz.

The magnetometer used was a geoMetrics G-816 portable proton

unit and readings were taken on the 60,000 gamma scale. Loop tie-

in readings were used for drift corrections.

A) VLF-EM SURVEYS

A total of five cross-over conductors were outlined on the

property. The best conductor outlined has a strike length of about

2,000 feet at about 120 degrees azimuth. The amplitude of this

conductor is quite wide and averages about 1000 feet. A shorter

conductor also with a wide amplitude though only about 800 feet

in length crosses L128W, L124W and L120W at 22S, 23S and 22S

respectively and may represent the extension of the larger con

ductor which crosses L116W to L96W at 243,243, 23S, 233,243 and

26S respectively (Figure 2).

A moderate to weak conductor crosses L92W, L88W and.L84W at

18S, 15S and US respectively while two short, weak conductors

were outlined at the southwest and southeast corners of the prop

erty.

Page 7: RPT ON MAG AND VLF-EM SUR - CHESTER TWP CL GRP · volcanic xenolith with a relatively higher magnetite concentration while the remainder of the property below 59000 gammas probably

GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS CONT,

W MAGNETOMETER SURVEY

Magnetic relief on the property is in the order of 2811 gammas

with highs of 609191 60809 and 60061 located at L100W-11S, L116W-

19S and L124W-42S respectively (Figure 3).

Magnetic lows of 58108, 58166, 58289 and 58288 are located at

L120W-36W, L112W-34S, L10^W-2?S and L132W-19S respectively.

Linear mag highs which may represent diabase dikes were not

noted on the property.

In general, the magnetic contours indicate a band about 800

feet wide and striking at the regional trend of about 120 degrees

of greater than 59000 gammas and crossing the central to eastern

portion of the property. The remainder of the property is generally

lower than 59000 gammas.

The higher magnetic band mentioned above may represent a

volcanic xenolith with a relatively higher magnetite concentration

while the remainder of the property below 59000 gammas probably

represents trondhjemite-granodiorite. Small areas of greater than

59000 gammas within the intrusive may represent smaller volcanic

xenoliths.

Relatively large magnetic lows possibly representing areas

of alteration of the bedrock were not noted with all of the lows

as well as the highs only being one or two-station readings.

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Two wide amplitude conductors exist on the property and are

described on page k . These two conductors have a combined length

of 2800 feet and may represent a zone of shearing.

A moderate to weak conductor previously described, runs obli

quely to the regional trend and could represent a fault.

The other two conductors are both weak and short and may rep

resent topographic features.

The magnetic survey has outlined a band of relatively high

magnetics crossing the property along the regional trend. This

band is considered to represent a volcanic xenolith surrounded

by intrusive rock with a relatively low magnetic signature.

The two wide amplitude conductors run along the south contact

of what is interpreted to be a volcanic xenolith running at the

regional trend. Since nearly all of the gold in the area occurs

within shears striking at the regional trend, there is a good pos

sibility that the two conductors on the property represents a zone

of shearing with related gold mineralization.

It is therefore recommended that the stroger conductors be

investigated visually on the property during the summer* Samplesi

should be collected if possible and assayed. If encouraging assays

are obtained, trenching with a bulldozer or backhoe should be done

to expose the structure.

Dear Sirs;

RE: Mining Claims P 683164, et al, 1n Yeo Township

I have not received the reports and maps (In duplicate) for the Geophysical (Magnetometer ft Electromagnetic) Survey on the above-mentioned claims.

As the assessment "Report of Work" was recorded bythe Mining Recorder on March 29* 1985, the 60 day period allowedby Section 77 of the Mining Act for the submissionof the technical reports and maps to this officewill expire on May 28* 1985.

If the material 1s not submitted to this office by May 28, I will have no alternative but to Instruct the Mining Recorder to delete the work credits from the claim record sheets.
